Heard a local 355 this weekend with tubi and test pipes. Sounded much better than mine and so I am now in the research portion of my next upgrade. I looked at the pipes they are selling on line and they are simple. Anyone ever just build their own? If so then let me know I need some more knowledge!

Many 355s on here have test pipes/straight pipes. High flow cats are not straight pipes by the way.
Capristo with straight pipes are the way to go for the purist un restricted sound of the 355. Check out youtube for de catted 355 capristo.
Any form of high flow cats are because of the various emission needs.

I'm running test pipes, they are a simple thing and should be no problem for an exhaust shop to fab. 2.7's Motronics are ok, 5.2's will get a cat warning light I believe.

mines a 2.7 95" so thats what i already had in mind. just need to get the specs off of my stock cats. It may not give that much if any gain in hp but it makes it sound like a pissed off banchee when it runs!!!!!

Yep, I did mine for the sound, there may have been a very slight HP gain, but the extra sound is worth it IMO.
