I saw the 360 DIY clutch post from many years back with tons of great pictures and it motivated me to tackle the job myself too. For anyone doing the job, I'll share my experience on the special tools needed:

1 -Engine Hoist - $299 on amazon or $170 for the same one used on Craigslist. Made it really easy to hold the transmission and then we the back end to the right and placed it on my neighbor's hydraulic Harley lift to slowly lower it out. Strongway Hydraulic Engine Hoist with Load Leveler - 2-Ton Capacity

2 -Clutch alignment tool - $17.29 on Amazon - Lisle 61750 Metric Clutch Alignment Tool - Awesome fit.

3 -Pilot bearing removal tool - It took one pull. Our bearing has a 1/2" - 9/16" inner hole and the free rental from Autozone was 5/8" and wouldn't fit. $55 slide hammer plus $18 1/2" attachment - OTC 4420 Pilot Bearing Pulling Attachment with Two Pair Jaws and OTC (1155) Basic Slide Hammer Unit - 5 lbs. Hammer

4 -Hill Engineering thrust bearing removal tool - $220 or so - Awesome! I don't weld so paying $220 was fine by me.

Nice socket set, jacks, jack stands with locking pins, etc. - typical home auto mechanic stuff.

Have the flywheel coming in tomorrow or Monday so as soon as that's in we'll start getting her back together. I probably have around 10 hours into it so far like the book says, but next time would be much faster since there will be less head scratching time. Taking it slow in 2-3 hour increments and bagging and tagging everything.

Remove bumper, exhaust, cats, airbox, sub-frame on top of the engine, disconnect the F1 pump assembly from the wiring connectors and move it out with the tranny. Easy-peasy.

Do not forget to add an SD2 to the list.

Autoenginuity works on 575Ms, but is still $3500. Plus it assumes you know everything about servicing, just like an SD2. For some folks, an SD2 would be like a dog watching TV.
