Has anyone taken the plunge as the community guinea pic and given these a shot? I'm in the midst of my never-ending "refreshstoration" and would like to give these a shot just as a maintenance item if they are the real deal! TIA!

I bought them as indicated in a previous post, but being that Winter arrived before they did, I have not installed them. I can say that after receiving them, they look like the genuine Bosch part down to the most minute detail, but those Chinese knock-offs are pretty good!

Just saw this thread again and have just removed and cleaned my MAF units the other day. There was a brief rough idle at startup before and now it's just about as flawless as any perfect startup I'd expect. SImple stuff sometimes, once you figure out that the bit is a 5-star, and you already own every other bit ever invented on the planet... except the 5-star!!!! :)

Sorry, no. I have them, but I have not put them in as of yet. Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of car time this year.

Ok... I put them in and then I put the old ones back in. Why? Because the performance of the Ali Baba Bosche's seemed to retard the performance. It took longer to rev up and longer to rev down. Now, I could have possibly touched one or both of them on their sensitive parts as the old ones performed worse when I put them back in. On those, I took them out and sprayed maf sensor cleaner all over them, put them back in, and they performed as normal. So, I guess I need to try cleaning the Ali Babas and see what happens, but if you have ever thought you ruined your Ferrari by something you did, that's the feeling I had, so I'm not to keen on trying again, but I may try it for the sake of science.

Did you do an ECU reset after you replace the MAFs?

ECU needs to relearn and recalibrate to take into consideration the new MAF’s.

Ive just ordered replacement from my local ferrari dealer, they are much cheaper than bmw mafs so i am happy, not really that expensive.

For things like coils and mafs etc its really worth to go genuine, unless you like fixing you car till its broken like a true DIYer LOL

    My experiences:

    1. An Alibaba MAF on the 355, it jerked upon acceleration. Put the old one back, and the problem is gone. I threw that piece of Alibaba **** away.
    2. An original number matching Bosch part for a Porsche 996, it generated a CEL for Ambient Air Temp too low. Put the original Porsche one back, the problem went away. I returned the Bosch one.

I will never again buy any MAF of any brand other than the factory one, after bending over for the price. The aggravation is not worth the trouble no matter what the saving is.

FWIW, I got genuine Bosch MAFS from CarID at a great price, put them into my 360 and it immediately ran well after a momentary stumble. No resetting was needed. As pointed out above, the ECU is constantly learning and adjusting. It’s too bad that 430s need a different sensor and they’re so hard to get other than branded Ferrari parts. I’ve not checked but am guessing the 360 MAFS cross reference with a more common car.

Good point, but where do you see a bosch one... I can't find any. The one in the link a few posts back, does not ship to US. Not that I need any right now, but I would buy them to have as spare just in case.

As Rifledriver posted, they don't exist, at least in the USA. So you get the complete assembly.

FYI, I emailed Bosch and attached is their response, so any instance of just the cartridge probably did not come directly from them.

    I just ordered a pair of 181120 from Eurospares.co.uk, ~$660 USD shipped.

I am using these ones for about a year now. +-10k miles. I initially had some cold start rough idling issues. After the inserts I still had them. But after a long 3k roadtrip the cold start issues were gone. Inserts are behaving exactly the same as the originals I had.
