I thought I would do a short write-up of my replacement of the front trunk gas struts on my 360.

The Ferrari equivalent is part number #67508100 and runs approximately US$200 per side.

I ordered up replacements via SGS Engineering in the UK, which cost £16.99 per side plus shipping.

    https://www.sgs-engineering.com/

WARNING: the stock replacements listed on the SGS website for a Ferrari 360 (at keast when I ordered a couple of months back) were incorrect and didn’t fit the car. I returned them and had SGS make up a new set according to the measurements of the originals which I took (included in the attached images).

I am happy to report that they pop right on so I am sharing the measurements in the images below in case helpful to anybody else. [fitting note: SGS emailed me to state that they can only provide gas struts with 100mm of stroke not 107mm as requested; I went with 100mm and they work great].

Replacement is very simple and only requires a small flat bladed screwdriver to pry off the retaining clip on both ball joints of the original struts. You then just pull the pin out (careful not to lose it).

The replacements pop right on (the black cylinder of the strut attaches at the top), insert the pin on each end and pop the retaining clips back on.

The originals were shot so it's a nice quality of life improvement as I no longer need to support the frunk with my head  .

SGS engineering also offer a re-gas service, so I might send the originals back to them for re-gassing at some point.

Thanks for sharing the specs Dan.
When my time comes I will use these specs to procure mine from https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/ (no affiliation).
They've been supportive with fitting all 4 on my old Porsche which has a larger spoiler on the hatch

Glad to share the specs. Will hopefully help owners have replacements commissioned from their friendly local gas strut specialist :)
