Hello friends, I spoke with Dan, from NGSC, at Car Week (very nice guy, btw) and he confirmed EAG will not be selling their kit without it being installed by them in their facility. I have nothing against EAG, but would much rather install the kit myself. So, with that said, has anyone else undertaken this task? Are there any other legitimate companies manufacturing parts that are willing to sell their product without install? Also, has anyone put together a master list of all the parts needed? Any and all comments are appreciated. Thank you.
My F1 pump motor still needs to be replaced I'm afraid. I have to trailer it a few hundred miles to get it done. Thanks for thinking of me!
This one sounds like a horror story.....no happy story finishes with 'trailer it a few hundred miles'! Hopefully you got back on the road....without too much further drama. M
I try to look at the silver lining. Because my car is garaged in a very remote location, it gave me an excuse with the wife to buy me a really nice tilt trailer because any time the car is serviced, I have to trailer it. Meanwhile, Scudding Swiss to the rescue with their e-diff by-pass allowing me to enjoy the car until the motor is replaced.
What do you think powers the F1 pump, fairy dust? You know that sound you hear when you open the door on a 360 or 430? That's the F1 pump, pressurizing the accumulator. That pump has a small motor. That little motor is responsible for keeping the F1 fluid pressurized. Those little motors will burn out over time and need to be replaced. You have little motors like that all over modern cars. You have them in your power seats, power windows etc.
Well with a manual you get sweet silence with the door open. Glad it's just the F1 pump and not the motor (of the car).
There many post on YouTube how to replace F1 power motor, find a new F1 motor from Eurspares or Ebay from 500.00 to 1100.00 new maybe less. I bought mine from Eurspares brand new 490.00 plus shipping. If you have to replace the pump then you have to bleed the system just the motor unplug and plug back in and three 6mm bolts
