This Christmas Im looking at getting a new tv which one is better and why Im looking at 55"-65" thanks
Look at the Samsung DLPs.... There is good info here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=665890
DLP is the ultimate picture. It is clear, the detail is nice, and the color is out of this world. LCD is for brightness, sharp picture, and space. DLP. Funny you ask this, because I am looking to pick up a Samsung DLP. HP makes great DLP's btw, but they are too big. Samsung makes a 42" DLP, which is why I am leaning towards Samsung, but if you want a 60"+ TV, buy the HP.
Buy a pioneer elite or toshiba. Samsungs pan badly and have slow refresh rates. DLP is a chip from texas instruments. You get what you pay for.
um... can you get LCD's that big? i thought they cut off around 42" or so and from there up it was plasma... no? if you can get an LCD though, i highly recommend it over any form of projection (DLP included), but that's just my personal preference.
I have a 50" and 42" Pioneer Elite plasma, a 32" Samsung LCD and a 63" Mitshubishi DLP rear projection and the plasmas have the best picture IMHO...I bought the LCD and DLP for my children to use and play video games on, which is a big no-no on plasma due to potential burn-in problems...
Yup. DLP deceives you, it gives you a "phony" picture. LCOS and Sony's 3LCD tv gives you a more accurate, natural picture. Samsung just gives you pretty colors. It's a really tough call, lol. Make sure to get a TV with at least 2 hdmi inputs. The technology changes so fast... Soon, HDTV will become standard, then we are going to have SUPER HD...
