Are the Capristo and Tubi (and others) exhaust systems a solution to the pre-cat issue?

    No.

Pre-cat issue is in the HEADER not the muffler...

You know the area at the end of the header where the 4 pipes "collect" that is where the pre-cat is.

Take it out & the car codes lights, unless you spend thousands to re-flash the computer (from what I have heard)
One company makes aftermarket headers to replace the factory pre-cat ones but rumor has it - will flash code lights also (same as removing the cat material in a stock one basically)..

Some have spoke about the potential of adding a device that tricks the O2 sensor to simulate the pre-cat being there... no idea if that has ever been perfected.

The 360's year 2000+ can have this issue, do not catch it in its infancy & the cat material can get drawn back into the head = $$$$$$ catastrophic damage.

Mine had both replaced last year under warranty (8 years on emissions related items- headers fall into that) You may need to have a stock exhaust & a good dealer to make that a simplistic claim..

On a side note Beanster, you still trying to talk yourself out of a 360....?? ;)
