Just curious, do any F1 teams make a net profit at the end of the year? Revenue brought in for advertising and licensing fees minus expenses? I cannot see any team, even Ferrari, adding to the bottom line of their parent company. Any insight?
Organizations like McLaren and Williams quite likely make a profit. If the new facility that McLaren has now is any indication, quite a nice one at that. The lesser teams like Minardi are likely subsidized by Bernie but the team is always for sale. BHW
I read somewhere that Eddie Jordan was the highest paid team principal, I think in 2003 or something. I belive the teams probably all operate at a net-zero basis but they probably adjust principal salary to make that happen For example, even Minardi has a big budget - what, $80-120MM a year? There's no way Stoddart is filling in the gaps. He's only spending what he takes in, and I bet he's paying himself pretty darn well.
I can't remember which one it was, but one of the top F1 teams made a profit of around $60 million last year.
If they were not making money, they would stop, after all like any other business thats what its about.
Couldn't of said it better myself. There is no way that they would continue on if they were turning negative numbers
