My car is in the shop for an oil change and for the third time my air dam is being repair. Am I the only one who hit the darn concrete bumpers in parking lots?

12 cylinders or walk. I am walking right now.

I hit them fairly frequently, you just have to take them sideways

Maybe try putting out that cigar first...its hard to judge depth with all that smoke in your eyes ;)

If Darth can do it...whats your excuse?

    Bart,

Would you mind saying who is doing the re-spray of your spoiler? Do they have to do any fiberglass work on 550s (I am not familiar with the exact material- is it like the 355s?) My Testarossa went in yearly for a little 'glass work on spoiler, but that was relatively easy. My 355 is much lower and I'm still getting used to places where I hit front that didn't bother the TR. It's time to get it fixed, and I'm tossing around ideas of where to take it...

Thanks in advance for any more info you can provide....

    Eric

1 hit in 2 years...plus the spoiler was split when i bought it...but that doesnt count against me! I think i'll take the little sensor off my X5 and put it on my 550's spoiler. Or i'll invent something...get rich and buy a new 612. ummm

Heck, it is made from filerglas. Many around me know how to work that stuff. When it is fixed, I know within a year, I will need to fixed in again. I have been known to park my 550 in many places. Some may not be nice. The front air dam is the first to take a hit.

Oh, well. That is the cost of drivng the thing.

    Bart-

I feel for you- I always budget for not only service for for a respray/spoiler fix every year, and then maybe a visit to Fernando's to get some leather work done once every several years. That's part of the fun of f-car ownership, right :-(

Curious though- do you get the underbody (not sure the correct name) scratched some too- there is one speed bump in a local parking lot that I simply cannot go over- no matter what angle, I touch underbody. And if I have one of my "larger" friends in passenger seat, we just can't go there.

Have you ever needed to have the undercarriage stuff painted? I know I need at least some touch ups.

But it is a "badge of honor" in a way- except if damage was caused by valet :)

    Take care,

    Eric
