In a recent discussion with Mark who stated that his man/Dino source, Carlo, had found an original spare part that I didn't know was part of the 246 European package; a battery cutoff switch. My Euro 246 GTS has one, but I had assumed it was an aftermarket install and would like to know if others' have this?

It is located in the front bonnet area on the passenger's side behind the radiator and outboard of the spare tire tub. When parking for a duration (i.e. overnight) I can open the bonnet, reach down and turn off the battery without removing the spare tire. Perhaps it was a basic security device before car alarms came along or possibly a electrical isolator?

Nothing like that on our '73 Euro version.

My 69 L-series has one- a simple aluminum lever about 1.5-2in long, which rotates on an axis from about 4:30 to 7:30, in a plane parallel to its mounting in the rear of the spare tire area. I have no idea if this was OEM- have never seen another on the few other early Dinos I've seen. I'll try and post a picture of this if I can figure out how to do it.
