I'm curious if any cops are using this in Houston? I have a V1 detector and the current upgrade is for POP mode. It's on MPH radar units and is designed to combat radar detectors by sending out radar in very short bursts, but it's supposedly not as accurate as standard mode.

The FCC has not certified POP function alone for accuracy, is what they stated. So what that means is, a good lawyer can shred that ticket right in front of the troopers face.

The cop is supposed to get a reading on PoP, then switch over to standard radar for accuracy, and base the violation off of that. But I don't see how the cop couldn't just always say he clocked the violator on standard radar, and no one been any the wiser. That's why I decided to get my V1 upgraded (though it is my understanding PoP is not widespread at all right now, and I've detected none so far).

Thanks. I'm sure a cop could say whatever he wants regarding what mode he was in. There's probably no way to argue that in a courtroom. I may still do the upgrade.

Dodging lasers is useless. It's instant-on. You can't beat that.

A common misconception. It is possible to detect lasers before you are targeted yourself. It's uncommon, but it can happen, and has in fact, happened to me once.
