Greetings to all -- I am the owner of a 2007 599 GTB, and last year purchased the POWER warranty. At that time, the dealer did the 101-point inspection, including compression test, tire wear check, etc.

My understanding at the time was that having passed the inspection, my car was eligible for POWER renewal each year as long as I did the scheduled services -- without another 101-point check.

My renewal date is now approaching, and the dealer service department is telling me that I need the whole shooting match again, leak-down test and all. This seems a bit silly given that it's unlikely that I destroyed the rings in the 2k miles I drove over the past year, and also isn't what I remembered.

Can anyone shed light on whether this intensive re-inspection is actually required by Ferrari?

    Thanks!

    Gary

If you've had a trouble free car just scrap that money maker especially with the kind of miles you're putting on the car. Make sure that you have them check all the typical problem items before cutting loose in case you have something go wrong right away.

It is required according to my service department. I had to do the inspection last year and this year to get the extended warranty.
