My first car was a Corvette... nice when I got it, but over the first 2 years it developed rattles, squeaks, and electrical gremlins I couldn't shake.

Bought another - same thing. My Viper was nice - tight, solid feeling, a good car. But after 20k miles, the doors started to clunk a little when shut, there was a few squeaks and rattles I spent forever trying to track down - the car felt like it had 100k miles after only 20k!

My current car (BMW 3 series) is nice - 20k miles and 3 years old and it's solid as the day I got it. No rattles, no squeaks, doors still "click" when you shut them, its holding up great. Reminds me of my mom's Honda Accord that still felt new after it had 30k miles on it.

So, theoretically, if one were to buy a 360 today, and drive it 5k a year, is it still going to feel "tight" and solid and new after 4 years? Or do these cars tend to loosen up and start clunking, rattling, and so on?

And to go one step further, was there a time period when quality improved? If you were to buy a 92 TR for example with 10k miles. Can it be expected to be "tight and solid" or is it going to clunk when you shut the doors and rattle when you drive on a bumpy road?

Anyone got any personal experience on a 2-4 year old Maranello or 360 they bought new with some miles on it (like over 5k-10k miles)????

    Thanks!

Got about 29,000 miles on my 2001 360 (I'm the first owner). No squeaking or rattles in over 3 years of all-season use. The leather still look new. A/C and heater works great. Drives pretty much the same as new.

My 03 360 which I bought new has around 6K miles on it. Still nice and tight -- no rattles, the doors still close solidly.

That a new car should hold up this well after 6K miles is really no big deal. Even if it is a Ferrari!

Edit: fwiw, I would never buy a 15 year old Ferrari with just 10K miles on it -- that's deep in garage queen territory. That really would be asking for trouble! It would have to have at least 50K miles on it and documented proof of regular use and timely maintenance...
