Before you judge any Ferrari's looks, no matter how classic or how modern, you really do need to see it in person.

perryaviation - I'm with you on this one. None of the recent models has given me the jaw dropping wow factor that something like the F40 did. The 355 I liked straight away, but the 360, 550, Enzo etc took me a while to warm to, but I now think they're awesome too. The Enzo especially in black looks like its straight from satans garage.... the 456 took me a bit longer, but now I think its hugely underrated !!! Amazing how your initial view changes. Dare I say it, but the 612 is even starting to grow on me...........

I'm not old enough to know, I wonder how the classics 250GTO. 275GTB and even the 308 were received in the time.

To me, there is nothing more timeless than the line of 308/328 and Testarossa/512TR.... Countach is another bold statement but not as flowing to the eyes like the F-cars I mention.

Today's F-car need us to take time to look for details. I really hate the 360 at first, but now my opinion has changed a bit. No..I will never like it the way I like the 328, but 360 does look better with time. The 550/575 never really hit it for me. And I still don't like them...

Enzo was a very different experience for me. I 1st saw the photo and fell in love with the design, but after seeing the real thing I wasn't impressed at all. And after seeing it 3 times now, I still hold the same opinion...it does not have the correct combination of grace and speed...the enzo is simply too purposful to my taste.

612 was a very nicely done design for me....am I alone in my opinion here??? It's not hey-look-at-me type of car, but it's a fitting design for a GT..a bit under-state and still look quite impressive at the same time.... The only change I would like made to the the 612 is the interior...I would think the GT machine would be a bit softer to the eye than that instrument cluster..the interior feels a bit heavy..

Well, all of the above is just my opinion...ha ha.

The last four new models, 456, 550/575, 360 and Enzo, are not nearly as photogenic as the 328s, 512s, and 348s.

In the flesh, however, they are stunning, much more involved and complex than the previous designs, especially the Enzo.

Having said that, I'm not sure what to conclude about the 612. Rims, I believe, will make all the difference with this one, as they did with the Jag XK8/XKR. Again, the flesh could prove me wrong altogether.

I'll post about cars in general if ya don't mind :)

I'm 21, so I'm prone to like the more modern cars I guess. But that aside, lets ramble.

    Ford

I didnt like the 5.0 mustangs,
I liked the ones that predated the polygon ones(i hope im making sense).
The polygon(current) one is growing on me
    I HATE the new ones.

    Vette
    Didn't care for the C4s
    Loved the C5s.
Wish the C6 would bring back the retractable lights.

    Ferrari
    Love the TR(Miam Vice rules!)
Loved the car in Magnum PI(sorry I don't know the name :( )
Anything else in that time period I didn't care for.
360 spyder is perfection in car form.
Don't care for the 456 or the 612 really (saw the 612 at detroit).
    550/575 is yummy
F40 is sweet, F50 is better looking
Enzo, well its an enzo, it grows on you, havent seen it in person, but seeing some guys in that custom blue made me like it alot more.

    Porsche
Didn't like the 995, remind me too much of VWs
    Loved the 996s
Don't like the changes of the 997(the front lights bother me)
Carrera GT pics dont dont do it justice; saw it at Detroit, was impressed, saw it in black at NY, omg if it wasnt for security i'd go and hug it.

    Lambo
    Liked the contauch(sp?)
    Loved the Diablo VT
Love the Murci but would take the Diablo look over it.
    Gallardo is bleh

    Honda

    Accords looking better
    Civics looking worst

    Pontiac

The Enzo was all right in my mind when I first saw it, I kind of felt obligated to love the car since it was a Ferrari Supercar, I read up on it, saw its performance figures ( you can love that car w/o even seeing the pics when you see those #'s)

Then BAM! There it sat on the Ferrari of Denver showroom floor with me standing motionless nearly drooling at the car, seeing it in real life, sitting in the drivers seat, just getting a feel for the car was awsome, with in 5 seconds of expierencing the car up close I was so....addicted to it. After that wonderful day I was so in love with this car I couldnt stand it, my wallpaper on the computer was an Enzo pic changed every 10 minutes to a differnet Enzo pic, If you cant tell, the Enzo grew on me like nothing ever had before......now if only that price is a little more reasonable when im in the market for a Ferrari....ehh, no way.

The 348 certainly grew on me!!!

I like the 550 more now than when it came out - turning point for me was an article a while back somewhere when a couple of guys took a 550 all the way through South America. There were some shots of the car filthy as all get out down in Patagonia and I started to dig it. When they whacked the top off and called it a barchetta I really dug it!

The 360 Modena has grown on me, but I haven't got my head around the 360 Spider yet. Loved the F40 immediately, still don't care for the F50, and loved the Enzo as soon as I saw it in the metal/composite/carbon fiber in Beverly Hills.

I liked the 456 immediately as well - first one I saw was in Sydney in dark blue and I thought it looked good. Haven't seen a 612 yet except in pix so need to see it for real to know if I like it.

    Cheers
    Kevin
