I bought a 360 equipped with a spare tire in the trunk. After a few weeks I realized I needed the trunk space to carry things. I would like to carry the regular tool kit because it has a tool to manually work the top (Spider) as well as a tow hook (and I read that if I ever have to flatbed the car I need the tow hook because the front is so low). So the tools I need are in the regular tool case that fits inside the spare wheel. There is a larger case that fits in a well in the trunk, but that has jack related stuff only. It is a really neat leather suitcase in tan. I do not want to carry around the spare tire/wheel and jack stuff, but I do want to carry the real tool kit. How does the non-spare-tire spider carry the tool kit? I can't believe the entire layout of the trunk is different for the spare tire car. My best thought is to put the spare and the mounting bracket along with the jack suitcase in my basement and put the real tool kit in the well in the trunk. It does not fill the well and will rattle around but that is better than being caught with a non-working top in the rain or no tow hook when I need a flatbed ride.
Ive never seen a pic with the spare tire in the trunk take all the crap that you don't need and throw it away. first thing I did when I got my car was took out the battery charger / air in a can and took out the leather straps, so much better now having a full clean trunk to open. just keep the 2 tools in the trunk, I think you could keep the tow hook at home as all you would have to do is call wife or whoever to run to the house to get it. not many times yo would have to use the tow hook. never seen this top tool , maybe put it behind one of the seats / behind the seat stretchy map thingy?? or under one of the seats? get creative and clean that crap out
If you don't want the spare tire kit, I'll buy it. Send me a PM if you're interested in unloading it. I can also send you a snap of what the front looks like without the spare tire. DM
Very Funny. Nothing about my car has been thrown away and I like it that way. I have the three key fobs (one red), two keys, the original car code card, and the radio code card, the original car cover and case, the original spare, all the books and records including every service required from delivery to now, the power warranty book, all the tools, little belts and fuses in the tool kit, the Ferrari Flashlight etc. I just want to carry the normal tools without rattling if I put the spare and jack in storage. I have to say the spare tire, the tie down's in leather, the jack kit in its own suitcase all add to the car.
I think you took him far too litterally. I suspect he, too, would strongly advise holding onto all of the items mentioned, just don't need them stored in your car. FWIW
Why not just carry the can of air, the tow hook, and the tool to close the top? Keep the nice tool box at home in the garage. That is what I do. I was told the tool box is somewhat valuable and can go missing. You can buy some velcro straps at the hardware or drugstore and secure everything nicely without drilling or putting in any mounting hardware.
