do not collect $2,000,000. Monopoly my favorate board game is getting updated with the times, I really dont like it. It's cool that there using properties that are in use now and game pieces are things that i use, but I only know one way to play monopoly and it should stay that way. The novality editions are great but even though the original is still being sold I have I feeling it will slowley fade away in favor of the new one. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/12/business/media/12adco.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
I agree. The fun of the game was its simple appeal. What good is making a board game more like real life?
Imagine a Ferrari Edition Monopoly...? That would be awesome...! All the little pieces would be different Ferrari models... Instead of jail, you would be sent to an authorized Ferrari service center... The little yellow cards would say things like: "Congratulations! You just saved $5,000 buying parts at Ricambi! Move ahead two spaces." or "Ouch! Against the advice of your friends, you had your car serviced by JRV. Lose a turn." Instead of collecting $200 (or, these days, $2M) when you pass Go, you would collect various parts or services like timing belts and oil changes or maybe even Certificates of Authenticity. Instead of buying properties, you could buy different models (complete with serial numbers). You could buy a GTO or an LM or an Enzo! It sounds like it would be a fun game.
