    Anybody done time before?
    Recently?
Can you access the internet in prison?
    I go to court in a month...facing 2-20 years.
If you stop seeing me post it means things did not go so good (and that the answer to this question is 'no')

dude, quit worrying, if its your first offense you will very very likely get off with probation. i cant see someone getting sent up the river for what you did, its pretty minor regardless of how serious the charges sound. can i have your car ????

lmao! No, but I have a nice little biz that might be up for sale. I originally thought what you thought too, no priors...no biggie...except in Alabama...they will send you up the river for things you wouldn't believe....

    Case in point...

    http://www.birminghamdefenseattorney.com/news.cfm/Article/1491/Birmingham-Alabama-veteran-lawyers.html

    the part that scared me....

Last year, Bowen helped reverse the life-without-parole sentence of a mother of two who had sold a morphine mixture to an undercover police officer for $150. Bowen charged nothing for representing the woman, whose sentence was found to be cruel and unusual punishment. She later was sentenced to time served and released on probation. Birmingham criminal defense lawyer Steve Salter praised the appointment of Jaffe and Bowen to Rudolph's case.

Yeah, that would work. Especially from the guy that drove 5 hours to go turn himself in when I found out about it, and then drove 5 hours back.

What did you do for real T-mobileguy? I dont ask because I think youre some hard core criminal, just that we've all done stuff.

When I was 18 I was arrested for racing on the highway with some guy in a BMW at over 150mph in a 55 zone. Road blocks, the whole 9 yards. I saw a cop go the other way so I took an exit and went home back roads - cops thought (or claimed rather) I was evading. So.... 18 yrs old, charged with felony evasion, driving to endanger, and a whoooole mess of other stuff (marked lane violation, display of speed, drag racing, failure to use directional, and on and on). I went to the arraignment and figured a nice college-bound young man like me would get off easy. Not likely - at the arraignment the judge STRONGLY recommended counsel because I was "probably facing jail time". Freaked me out too!

In the end, I worked it out with the prosecutor to an extent. They hit me with 3 moving violations (speeding, marked lane violation, failure to use directional) which all carried points on my license. In my state, 3 violations in a year is a 3 month loss of license. So they did that, hit me with a $1000 fine, 6 months probation and I was outta there.

If you are willing to say what you did, or if not PM me, and I will give my .02. I went to court maybe 20-30 times during my ordeal and every time I had to sit through various other cases. I've seen hundreds of people go through there and you wouldnt belive what people get let off with. Drug dealers, 3rd offense with enough weed to be considered a dealer "1 year probation". Dude stabbed another dude - 30 days house arrest + 2 years probation. And on and on.

Unless you did something REALLY bad I doubt you will do time. Bear in mind they want to put away real criminals, not people who do dumb things. If they dont think you are a big risk of repeat offense, I am sure you will come out OK.

You know, minimum security prison is no picnic. I had a client in there once. He said the trick is kick someone's ass the first day, or become somebody's *****. Then everything will be all right.
