Iran?s defense minister claims newest stealth fighter jet almost ready | Defence Blog Don't think the Iranian aerospace industry is top shelf, but 300 billion dollars goes a long way. Thoughts?
I would love to see that thing fly.... In the same sort of way that I slow down to ogle particularly lurid car accidents. It's the fighter jet equivalent of one of those stories from China where a guy has build a remarkably realistic likeness of a Ferrari on some piece of crap car. From 100 yards away it would pass for the real thing if you didn't realize it was only 2/3 of real size and couldn't see interior was cobbled together with bits from the original car. The thing just looks like a crazy death trap that's barely the size of a T-38 so it would be interesting to see just how it carries a couple 2k lb bombs or just how much fuel it can hold.
It makes one wonder who they are trying harder to convince, the West or their own people? The hinges on the ailerons, or whatever they are, on the main wing look like Home Depots best and the tow rig has me curious. Is the landing gear so tenuously attached that they can't tow it on it's own wheels? I'm betting plywood.
Hollywood should really start outsourcing the prop making to Iran and Al Queda. This is better quality than the tank-parade-float on a truck thingy.
Why? I'm pretty sure they stole the design from GI Joe or something. I know I've seen it somewhere before. Mark
I have made a careful assessment of the airplane and have concluded that they have made a break through in aerodynamuks. For instance, the drooped wing tips have many beneficial affects on landing, the wheels are fully protected from making ground contact and scrubbing rubber off the bicycle tires that are used only for moving the vehicle on to its trailer. The wing tips are made of replaceable secret material that is made only in Iran. It's called Unobtainium. The little wings in front are critical to make the air flow impact the leading edge of the wing when in neutral but when the flaps are operated up or down they divert the airflow up or down. Clever! When the angle of the front wing is sometimes changed by the design team by jacking up the nose, the angle matches the angle of attack of the position on the trailer and that allows the little wing to stay in neutral airflow if the trailer is not in motion. If the trailer is in motion the forces created by the little wings are controlled and stabilized by the elevated trailer hitch on the top of the trailer that is bolted to the nose of the airplane thingy. That keeps the airplane thingy from flying off the trailer because the 95.5000 LBS. thrust engine has yet to be designed and installed but never mind, the airplane thingy flies anyway as shown in the picture with the picture of the mountain that was pasted on the hangar wall. That is because the airplane is built of light weight Imaginarium and doesn't need an engine just yet. This machine is obviously a threat to many things that have yet to be determined.
When you live in La La Land, anything is possible. I like the Uniden Bearcat receiver on top. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Right up there with the fact they have copied the RQ-170 we lost over Iran. Sort of like a dog watching TV.
The control stick boot made out of tarp is a nice touch. But this is a prototype. I'm sure they'll order proper boots from the JC Whitney catalog when they go to production.
I have seen more sophisticated home flight sims. That is funny. I wonder how many have been executed for laughing when they see it? I'm guessing all the switches/buttons/breakers down low in front of the stick are a bit difficult to reach when you are strapped in. Human engineering was a bit challenged in the A-1 version. Maybe you can operated them with your toe.
LOL! I love that they literally took avionics and coms straight from our experimental plane market and stuck them in. They didn't even use high end stuff. You'd think they'd at least spend a few bucks and try to make this POS look legit. Mark Image Unavailable, Please Login
Depends on the audience and medium of the message... To an uneducated Iranian citizen who might see this article in cheap newsprint, it probably seems legit!
Thanks for that elex analysis. I'm not active enough to know all that now but it is a perfect match for my in depth aerodynamuks analysis of the bent down swept wing airplane thingy. Seriously, I did something like this for my kids in 1956. Instrumentation was from defunct washing machine panels and some old radio gear. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You're all wrong. That's Warp 2.5. Holy crap, that things fast. Must have some special goat fat infused plywood to withstand the skin temps reached at that speed.
They are starting taxi tests. https://theaviationist.com/2017/04/15/new-photos-and-video-of-irans-homemade-f-313-qaher-stealth-jet-have-just-emerged-and-heres-a-first-analysis/ [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x95JmBfQgj0[/ame]
