I did try to get a more muted Red but the Powder Coater did not offer it. I could have gone with a smooth Red Finish, but I liked the krinkle finish better. I still have my original Black Air Box so it would take me 15 minutes to change it back to original.
Thanks to all for your opinions.

The quality of the work is excellent, but IMHO it detracts from the real star - the ENGINE. Return it to matte black.

That is a good point. Working with modified cars on a daily basis I see that sometimes emphasis is put in the wrong place. For example many cars I see have the entire wiring harness covered in red or purple loom. I would prefer to hide as much wiring as possible. That doesn't apply to this car but the airbox seems a little out of place. (unless plenum/valve covers were done to match).

I too like to make the engine as attractive as possible and all other areas subdued.

If you like it, it doesn't matter what I think.

What is the point of calling attention to the airbox as you have now done? It's stock and really nothing impressive. It calls too much attention away from that fine engine. Black mat it and restore the visual balance of the engine bay.

The bright colors should be on the good stuff, IMO... You have a Ferrari Engine and an airbox to choose from... I'd want people looking at the Engine!
