    I think the general public would be amazed if they knew how few people even here are not keen on being lawyers. I would say ~60% have something they would rather be doing, but are in it now with $100k+ debt (meaning $1200-1500/mo payments) and social expectations of practicing in a large or prestigious firm for at least the token 2-4 years before being able to do what they really want. Often the answer is, "I don't know what I want to do. It's not being a lawyer, though."
