Finding gas that isn't an ethanol blend is getting harder (and in some places, impossible), and even when you do, you never know if it's really pure gas. Do you add an ethanol defense additive to your tank, and if so, which do you use?

While I can find premium fuel with no ethanol where I live, it's delivered through the same hose as the 10% blends, so I assume I'm getting at least a small amount of ethanol every time I fuel up. I don't worry about it, and the car doesn't seem to notice. I did replace all of the rubber that comes in contact with fuel a couple of years ago with modern hoses, so no worries there.

In the 17 years I've owned my 328 I've never put any fuel in it other than "normal" (ethanol blend) fuel from the gas pumps. I do not add fuel additives for normal use and the car has never done anything but start/run perfectly. I DO add some Stabil to the fuel for storage when it sits with battery disconnected. After storage it always starts immediately upon reconnecting the battery/engaging the starter. I can't see any reason to search for non-ethanol fuel. As far as a routine additive - use it if it makes you feel better. ;)

I use a bit of Redline Water Remover to help disperse the water that ethanol attracts, and that is what can degrade the aluminum fuel tanks.

I think new hoses are necessary for the modern fuel, al beit the cars are so old they should have been replaced by now anyways.

There is some rubber in eg. the fuel distributor which might degrade from ethanol, albeit new rebuild kits have ethanol friendly o rings and diaphrams.

Put in some Marvel Mystery Oil from time to time to keep things clean, and you will be good.

E10 became wide spread in CT in 2007. I have used regular E10 in my 85 QV since then. NO additives. NO problems. No additives for storage either. The 308 doesn't require premium gas.
