Yea but who voted, mostly kids with limited knowlege of real cars.
well it just confirms how much value / performance subaru impreza Sti and Mitsi Evo's are. One of them (prolly STi) is going to be my warm up car before I buy a ferrari..
nobody's EVER going to agree on a top 100. even if i said let's narrow it down to the top 5 Ferrari's, the people on THIS site alone would still disagree across the board with other's decisions. i see the X1/9 has a berth at 92.
It's more a top 100 but should be in no particular order. Most of the choices make sense, except the X1-9.... I question how they can have the Lotus Elise, 7 and Elan listed but not the Europa?? The Europa was the first "affordable" mid engined car and remains one of the best handling cars ever made. Also, where's the 308? Talk about an icon car!!! At least the 246 made it. Ken
love how light the Lotus is, and they're so ugly they're sexy... X v Europa: page1 page2 page3 page4 page5
How is it that a Audi TT is better than the Bugatti Type 57 Atlantic? But it was nice to see a Dusenberg in the list.
seems they had similar problem engine-wise, with all the great fiat/lancia Lampredi TC's available, none made it into a production X, but i just had to stick one in mine... cured!
I don't agree. It is heavily biased towards british cars. I did not know the red coats had it in for the Italians. BT
A number of the F-cars that were mentioned above in some posts- not on the list - also what about the Tesstarossa, Daytona, California, F50,etc... Also No Murcielago or Diablo?
well the first mistake they made was calling the list "GREATEST 100 cars"... several months ago Car magazine did a top-100... COOLEST cars. it's hard to argue with that list as it's obviously biased, but still a good read. a compilation of the GREATEST is flawed from the get-go and not likely to make friends with anyone.
it's always the same crap with these british based magazine journalist the #1 always depend on what country is the list written In my opinion LAMBO MIURA must be at the top of any list. then F40 and some Bugatti
That must have been quite a project! There are only two (off the shelf) engines that can fit in a Europa: the Ford Zetec and a Toyota model. Everything else that physically fits either spins the wrong way, needs a different transmission or needs radical mount fabrication. I imagine a transplant in an X 19 is at least as challenging! Ken
I would just love to know how the mazda MX6 beat the ferrari F430... maybe in bang for your buck... ?
Let me be clear. I'm British. I don't drink tea (can't stand it). This list is total rubbish, voted for by morons who shouldn't be given the vote, never mind a driving licence (actually most of the voters were probably twelve so they have neither). Have any of you actually ever driven an Austin Maxi? What were they thinking? I can't believe more than thirty people voted to put this list together as notwithstanding the flaws of such lists as debated here, this list is shockingly poor, and by far the worst one I've ever seen..... Loads of American all-time greats missing from the list, and many beautiful and high-performance European classics also absent. My six year old son could put together a more credible list. J.
