    Can you help?
I have a 1979 308GT4 Euro single dizzy car.It has a Ferrari electronic ignition with magnetic impulse pickups as standard equipment!
So far I have not been able to find much info on this system.
The 1980 GTB Euro (perhaps the GTS too) has the same system I believe.
Does your workshop/owners manual give a detailed description of this ignition setup?
If so would you be able to email me the data or at least confirm there is a description of this ignition setup.I dont want to download a copy of the manual if it doesnt have the info.
    Thanks Geoff

I doubt that the ellusive ~1979 Euro Workshop Manual you reference exists. What information do you need besides the wiring diagram? Below is 1980 Euro from Owner's Manual 188-80 which has 'magnetic' control sensors in the distributor replacing breaker points. FWIW, the advance curves are available. Not having seen this before, I have not 'colorized' the full wiring diagrams for this model.

Poking around ignitions for the few years with this ignition setup in 1976-1981, appears it was only used in 208 & 308 for a transition during 1979 to 1980 when Ferrari switched to TDC flywheel sensors and the more comprehensive magnetti modules ignition. system.-

During this period of flux, when fuel systems were making a giant transition, the ignitions systems were also. Ignitions went from breaker/coils to distributors in singles and pairs. Then distributor magnetic sensors replaced breaker points, in ones and two. Then finally flywheel sensors to dual marelli modules to one or two distributors.. Your car is apparently a transition model. Hope the diagram helps.

The diagram that Paul shows from the 188/80 208B/S OM also appears in Section 3 of the 155/78 OM (late euro 308B/S). On page 111 of the 155/78 OM, there is a more complete wiring diagram showing the wire colors and actual connections, but I've never come across any real technical description/information for your system beyond the few sparse words in Section 3 (doesn't mean that a special publication doesn't exist, but it will be off the beaten track, and hasn't been mentioned here before AFAIK).

    Thanks fellers,
My dilemma is that here in OZ the twin dizzy system was the go!
My car being an imported Euro has the single dizzy etc.
If I have to get major work done on the ignition Ferrari here, are not familiar or conversant with the system! They could not provide a diagram etc.
The '76 GT4 manual gives some detailed description of the breaker points system.
I was hoping that there would be similiar for the "transition" system.re 1980 308 GTB/GTS
If I do have a problem I will have to hope that the sparky knows it all from the looks of it?
BTW my car has two ignition control fiagrams as evidenced by your diagram Paul, are they the Magnettis you are referring to?
