I brought my 355 from a main dealer who stuck my private plate on Front and rear. UK number plates are pretty big and I always thought it ruined the look from the front so.. I took it off :) BUT now I have two little white holes where the plinth was screwed into the front bumper.

I have seen many 355's at various meets with no front plates on. My question is has anyone else thought the same and have u made up a smaller plate or a stick on one? Let's see what you've got

Most of the world has a short height format. That allows easy placement on most cars.

The US, Japan and several other countries have tall-format but short-width plates. Those are often awkward to place on the front of low-slung sports cars.

My car has no mounting hardware for a front plate (US). There probably has never been a front plate on this car.

No front plate required in many states in the US. My state of Arizona is one of them thankfully.

I don't like a front plate on any Ferrari. But I have seen some good removable solutions on Fchat.

Show us a photo of the front.

I'm with you. Required by law in Montana to have one but none of my sorts or Muscle cars have one. I have only been pulled over for it once in many many years while in the 2011 Camaro, just a warning to get one. I'd just pay the tickets if they wanted to be dicks about it.

Be aware, it's a legal requirement to have a front number plate in the UK and abuse of the registration plate laws can result in the number plate being withdrawn from your car by the DVLA with no rights to any compensation for any monies spent on the plate (in the UK, you do not own the registration number, you pay only for the right to use it!).

With the ever increasing use of ANPR cameras in the UK, the Police tend to clamp down a lot more on number plate issues!(missing plates, incorrect spacing, incorrect size, etc., etc.)

I'm with Harry - UK plates are huge. I junked my front one about three years ago and put on a small (illegal) one. It transforms the looks and so far - no problems with the plod.

My daily drivers have a front plate. My fun cars do not.

It is a non moving violation here in the States so it does not affect your insurance. Just the $35 or so for the ticket.

Yep, here in the UK its total big brother on the motorists. 25% of all the worlds surveillance cameras are in our small island, its all about screwing the motorist for money as well as watching its own people. The latter under the guise of " terror laws"
My front plates are stuck onto the front bumper as far down under it as not to obscure it.

I have a stick on plate. Not the most attractive, but an easy solution that requires no drilling and doesn't mess with the lines. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Like it says above with the new emphasis on ANPR in the UK you risk getting nicked if no front number plate and worse risk loosing the right to display that particular number.

The motorist here is apparently a criminal waiting to happen the moment they take to the wheel! ...and don't even get me started on the 'speed kills' nonsense.

I'm not sure about over on your side of the pond but over here in the states that sticker is just as illegal as not having a plate so there would be no point in doing it. You would get the same ticket either way. It has to be the state issued plate or nothing.

I got tired of the police hassling me at the tunnel and bridge entrances around NYC. I use the Fabspeed mount for my 355, no modifications to the car needed, and it looks fine, keeps the plate real low. (I'm loading the pict from my fon and it will be sideways.)

I keep my plate in the front lid with the destroyed mount and mangled plate

Last time I was asked by a Enforcement officer where my plate was I showed them and asked them to fill out a insurance claim against the city for improper street maintenance were it got ripped off and caused me a great loss.
No ticket yet and they always said they would get back to me

355's have a more contoured front bumper than a 355 so I can see how it can be a bit of a pain (and if I had a 355 I'd go with the stick on plate rather than a solid one).

TBH though, I cant really see the problem on the 348 - Here's mine with the standard UK spec plate on it (It looks like it sits below the bottom edge of the front spoiler but that's an illusion - It's actually very slightly above the bottom edge) :
