I am sure that we can all agree that the 458 an absolute wonderful car, stunning, exquisite super fast and so much fun.

But lets suppose that you had an opportunity to give feedback to Ferrari, on the items/issues you think that they could improve...

    Any thoughts?

I personally think that the ceramic brakes should have been an option.

Actually after three years of ownership, I am hard put to find a complaint to make in the driving characteristics. Over the weekend I had a chance once again to drive the 458 and a few other exotics back-to-back. Driving the 458 is like a surgeon using a scalpel. It is a precision instrument. You can point and place it in a corner as if it is an extension of your hands. The engine and transmission act like extensions of your brain. Think about shifting, and it's done. And it is just so beautiful. I just hope they don't screw it up in an upcoming turbo.

Oh yes, here are a few non-driving things that I might mention:
-- The Spider I drove had cowl shake (my own car is an Italia and is as tight as a drum)
-- The infotainment system sucks and is just plain user unfriendly
-- Fit and finish could still be improved (though it has come a long way)

Well if you get even closer let me know and we can take a ride on the Autobahn. I've seen your video running around your area and I think you might need to try it out:)

It annoys me that when I change settings from race to sport etc, it automatically turns off the bumpy road setting, which I always drive with, and I have to re-enable it. A minor complaint I know but still annoying.

Absolutely love the car, but things that bother me a bit are

    1. I would like the steering wheel to come out even further,
    2. I would like the mirrors to auto fold when you lock the car (perhaps programmable??)
    3. Entertainment system is somewhat illogical
    4. Would like keyless entry and start function

    Agree with above comments.
As I have race seats, would love it if passenger side had adjustable base. Even if like driver's seat and had to be done by dealer. Silly that passengers have to sit on the floor. That bracket can't add much weight. Also, why can't you get race seat widths in 2 different sizes in same car? Not like a pre-made suit where waist size is predetermined. I would love a medium seat for me and passenger to have the more commodious large one.
A touch more heft to steering wheel turning resistance would be welcome. My 360 was just right.

A minor issue but need to change the location of the turn signal indicators so they can be seen without having to look under the steering wheel.

Nr. 4 can be fixed ^^

I have heard some set ups where I got more of a sound sensation in a 458 rather than enzo...

Most of my issues involve the exhaust.

The first thing I'd like to see is the option to turn off the tube that dumps exhaust sound into the cabin. I find it creates an annoying resonance in race mode around 3,000 RPM. And at any RPM it just strikes me as an artificial sense of occasion. Its not as bad as pumping sounds through the stereo but it gets too close for my taste.

Along those lines, I'd like to see a less hyper exhaust map for Race mode at lower RPMS. Sometimes I prefer the more buttoned down suspension setting but small throttle changes which are needed in light traffic cause the sound to go from quiet to boomy to quiet. That's also annoying.

Aside from that I would also suggest:
    1. Adjust the ride height down a little- currently it looks a little too high;

    2. The service program should not be just an oil and wiper blade change. It should be more comprehensive. Otherwise its just causing differed maintenance issues.

Aside from that, I think the 458 is a spectacular supercar.

That I didn't buy one earlier. A very fantastic machine. The turn signals do take some time to get used to. Other than that I love it.

    Sound is too synthetic
    Stereo from the early 90s
    Car is too heavy
    Steering has no road feel

Still the best of its class though.

One major gripe I have is the battery. The fact that it can run flat in just a little over a week of not driving a car is a big problem for me. I need to fly a lot and it's fairly common that the car will not be driven for up to 6 weeks in a row. The trickle charger solution does not work for me. I live in Tokyo where getting a flat parking lot is nearly impossible. And if you do, building management will categorically disallow using a trickle charger.

Still, wouldn't want to have any other car ...

I think the car is fantastic, kinda wished that they offered bluetooth streaming for audio. Other than that, absolutely love the car.

    Can't see turn signal indicators
    Horn buttons on steering wheel
    Archaic audio system
    No Bluetooth streaming from phone
frunk button on key fob works half the time
Speedometer should be more centrally located like rpm

Take Sheila out for drive. Listen to exhaust. Don't care about anything above. Problem solved.

    Replaced last month.
