    Drivers side mirror started clicking. Responds to adjustment joystick but isnt moving, just clicking. Doesnt seem to be electric, almost like somethings caught/unlatched

    getting it off the door is fairly easy, but I don't believe it gets you to the gears for the mirror to angle. I believe there were a few threads indicating the mirror glass needs to be removed.

    If that turns out to be true & you find that you need a replacement mirror glass, I'd like a replacement glass too. Mine is showing it's age.

    Mine is a Euro so the mirrors are a bit different, but I have disassembled several from other marques as well and they all seem to use similar construction. The mirror is held to the adjustment mechanism by a thin wire spring clip. Sometimes a good yank can dislodge it as can careful fishing behind the glass with a dental pick. Here is a picture of an 80's BMW mirror I scored for cheap from my friendly neighborhood pick-a-part. The actual adjustment mechanism was a direct swap for the seized and corroded original on my 308.

    I would source a donor first and "experiment" with removal. Really you could do it at a salvage yard without even buying anything.

    I would also check that it is not simply at its limit of travel. As a safety against excessive force, the adjustment will "slip" if you were to push hard on it. This may have happened to yours creating a new/false limit of travel.
