    Hello,

I only wish they'd return to the 10-6-4-3-2-1 point system. Two freaking points advantage for winning a F1 race? :(

    IMHO

I like this scoring system the best. 7th and 8th place should not count toward the championship, but should count for the smaller teams who are at the bottom rung of the F1 ladder. Rewards wins, but still rewards consistency too.

IIRC, Bernie Senilestone has stated he wanted to get the driver's racing  Oh they must have been knitting wooly hats then, last year.

Further he said the drivers will be positive about the change, well can some one find me one example, because all that I have read from Alonso, Trulli, Button, Hamilton, Rosberg, Heifeld, have all ridiculed the idea.

I think the sport is being run by a couple of ego maniacs who would do things (and are doing things) just to prove they can. There is the possibility this season of the new system falling completely apart. If Brawn starts out really strong and one of their drivers racks up the wins, the season could be over for the driver's championship by mid-season. At what point do the other teams throw in the towel and start developing next year's car? For that matter, at what point does Brawn start working on next year's car? Who even knows what next year's car is supposed to be? It could change at any minute. For myself I am breaking a long streak of attending at least one F-1 per year and attending my first Indy 500 and the Nurburgring Old Timers GP.

I agree with many others that a middle ground seems best -- more emphasis on wins but not as much as the FIA method. The FOTA proposal seems like an excellent way to go.

Ermm not quite a outright no-the result of the poll! However I think there are a few folk that voted on the hoof, and now would change there mind's, I have seen result's of similar polls and they near all voted it a hopeless idea.
