How many of you wear yellow? That would be the yellow LIVESTRONG Lance Armstrong Foundation bracelet. Its amazing how many people I see wearing it: from NASCAR drivers to actors on “Law & Order”, major sports stars. I’ve worn mine every day for at least a year (given to me by a 2-time cancer survivor). Are you wearing the badge?

The yellow plastic creates an adverse reaction to the Polo cologne.

No. I honestly used to be a huge fan. It changed when he chose cycling over his marriage and kids. According to his book, It's Not About the Bike, his ex-wife stood by him, followed him everywhere and even had invetro fertilization; not fun. Once you have kids, all priorities change. Screw the bike. His book cover still lists him as a husband. Interesting he hasn't updated that but still updates his TdF wins. I may catch hell for this opinion but that's the way I feel. Understand, though, I'm hypersensitive to a dad leaving his family.

My hat's off to him for his surviving cancer, though. Not fun, either. Dane

When I first saw people wearing the yellow bracelet, I was like, "what's that for?" The answer was, "to support cancer research." I said, "How much did that cost?" The answer - $1. So I'm like you donated absolutely no money to cancer research but you spent $1 to show that you support it and you are going to wear this badge like you are a champion of the cause.

I have pretty much no respect for the people who wear the yellow bracelet. They are people who talk-the-talk but don't walk-the-walk. When little Jimmy needs $100k for cancer treatment lets pass the hat around to all the people wearing those yellow bracelets and see how many of them cough up.

They remind me of the Vietnam war protesters who wore the peace sign as an icon. So maybe all the yellow bracelet wearers should organize a rally in D.C. and walk around the White House carrying signs that say, "Cancer is Bad!"

We know it's bad. What are you going to do about it? Wear a little yellow bracelet? Big help there.

My best friend is a cancer survivor. When he was going through his treatment, he didn't want any sympathy or support. He was like, "Dude, this ain't your problem, this is my problem, you just go about doing what you were doing." So my freinds and I didn't treat him any different than when he didn't have the cancer and that was the best therapy for him. He wasn't different, he didn't need people to be worried about him. What is to be is what is to be.

That was over 10 years ago and we don't even speak of it. I doubt the little yellow bracelet would have helped him. Then or now.

Even though Lance lives in Texas like me, I still haven't bought or worn that yellow band. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he's a cancer survivor, most people in my family haven't been so fortunate. I just see some people promoting it like a fashion statement. Remember what people were getting for them for on Ebay last year?

That's where I have the problem. People wearing it because it's "In" and you have to have one because its cool. These are the people you can look in the eye and ask them, "What is cancer?" and they don't have a clue. But they have the yellow bracelet to show they support cancer. "Cancer? Yeah, I'm all for it. I have a bracelet!"

It is a fact that Lance is a great cyclist and a great supporter of cancer support, but not too many people can claim he is a great person, great father, or great husband. I think that may develop after he retires, but I rode with several people that know him personally and his personality was always not to be desired.

Lance the cyclist is just awesome though!

I don't wear one. seems they are more of a fashion statement now, especially with all of the non-yellow colored knock-offs

My reason for wearing the LIVESTRONG bracelet is what it stands for: You can recover from cancer & do amazing things.

Well, you have misunderstood the concept a little bit.. You decide for yourself how much you want to pay for it.. I don't wear mine anymore, but I payed 50$ for mine.. I've heard of some people who have payed up to 1000 bucks for one..

I guess I'm the only one. All the profits from the wristbands go to Cancer research and they have sold over 50 million wristbands. I walk the walk. When my Aunt died from Cancer, I had all of our family and friends donate money the the LAF in her honor. Our family donated thousands to the LAF. Lance has done more for Cancer research than any other one person.

Most of the wristbands are bootleg. The real ones that support Cancer are only available through his website and a few select stores. To buy one through his website, you must buy a minimum of 10. So that's basically a $10 donation. That's how I got mine.

Who cares if people only wear them for fashion. The money still goes to cancer research.

I don't know Lance on a personal level but, I have met him a few times and I have family who works at his house and I have only heard good things about him.

They became trendy. People wore them for the look more than the supporting cancer. We live in a world were we have to be recognized for our contributions rather.

I don't wear them, I don't think they look cool, and I don't know how a little rubber bracelet is a fashion statement.

I agree. I donate to cancer research - I don't feel like I need others to know it by sporting an ugly yellow rubber bracelet. Especially when there are so many organizations with knocksoff that aren't actually sending the proceeds to cancer research.

It's funny. my 12 yr old niece wears one. She visited with us the other week and my 3 1/2 yr old daughter wanted one. They are too big for her so I gave her a blue "Asparagus" rubber band from the grocery store that was smaller. She has worn it every day for 2 weeks around her ankle or wrist. If she loses it, I have a green "Broccoli" band waiting in the wings.

After seeing her interest in this, I thought about a smaller version in support of something oriented toward young children that would support a cause for babies. My wife and I have a foundation set up after losing a child last year and have been trying to figure out how to use the money in a positive way that would last. Anyone know where to possibly get these bracelets in a smaller version with some sort of slogan in support of children? The proceeds could be divided between producing more bracelets and creating a larger foundation. Right now my wife is in the process of creating a website for grieving mothers.
