I've always named my cars: First car: Peugeot 106 (1998-build) - totalled when hit by a drunk driver. Named "Angel". Second car: Skoda Favorit (1992-build) - sold. Was named "Cecil". Third car: Skoda Felicia (1998-build) - sold. Was named "Steve". Fourth car: SmartCar ForTwo Pulse 600cc-Turbocharged (2002-build) - still owned. Named "Hercules" by me, and "The Beast"/"Smartacus" by my wife. Smartacus is used most often. Fifth car: MINI ONE (2004-build), modestly modified - still owned. Named "Zeus". All the best, Andrew.
I named my old Skyline GTR "the water buffalo"...for its reliability and toughness. The old 328 Koenig was called.... "the kit car" by many and it stuck!!! Still kicking myself for selling it. The purple EVO6 I built for gymkhana racing was called "the purple"... The very old skyline GTS (R32) was called "the Taxi" for its bad smell in the interior. The knocker (small hardtail customer bike from kikker) was called "rust bucket" for its Rat Rod look and clunky noise from the front sprocket... it will probably disintergrats soon. The 575 is called "the boat" for it's rather soft and cushy suspension set up. I do not name most cars, but some just got stuck with the name other people call it or I accidentally find word for it to describe what it's like.
Personally, no - The two greatest words to be spoken in order is the word "My" followed by the word "Ferrari" ... nuff said Now I supposed the lucky folks on here who have more than one might need to name them! Hopefully I will have that dilemma some day Cheers!
Dr. K, Though I never officially gave the car a name, my Daughters named her "Ethel". They talk about her daily....mainly about how they will never forgive me for selling the car. LOL!!
'Ethel' has new fuel lines, coolant lines, AC lines... She is doing aye-okay in el-aye. I will keep her moniker so her soul stays in tact.
Marty that plane is awesome! That or a Lear 35... one day.. 360: "The red car" or "Bellissima" Black Boxster: "Lightning" The 928: "928" The Passat: "snowball" any of them when they're misbehaving: F$%#$% B$%^$
