Just wondering. I almost had a heart attack when I saw a guy parallel park his yellow 360. I don't trust the drivers in my area with there huge SUVs, and cell phones (which I'm positive they use to ignore their kids).

I do, but make sure the spot has plenty of space...it is always a bit of a 'crap shoot'....regular spots can risk door dings. I get plenty of those, and keep the "dent wizard" guy plenty busy.... :(

People can be awful careless...A bunch of us were out to dinner Saturday night...and parked in a parking lot (two 308's, my 355 spider, 348 spider, and two Lambo Gallardos), my buddy's 348 gets bumped by some gal backing her car up.....at least she left a note. My buddy was floored as his car was way far away from anything.....amazing she hit his car.

    I use FerrariFlatbeds.com.

A simple call and they arrive within 5 minutes, guaranteed, and put my car on the flatbed so no one can ding it while on their cellphone!

I never asked but I do believe they drive aimlessly until I return to the curb.

    I think it's worth it! ;)

I did once, just off the square in downtown Marietta. When I was done, my eyes were just about level with the top of the trunk lid on a Subaru Legacy. Just another emphasis on how low a 328 really is. But parallel parking was no problem; I'm just glad I work out at the gym so that I have a decent pair of forearms!

OK, I'm a geek. About three Sundays ago, I paralleled my car. Nothing fancy or tight; at least two car lengths fore and aft. I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat in a bench across the street; perfect view of the car. Two birds, one stone: great view/scenery and ample protection. I'm too chicken to let her sit alone even in the "good" part of town. Dane

I agree with Tommy. You are risking your door or bumper. Bumpers are heartier, so I opt for parallel when the space next to the handicapped space or one on the end isn't available.
    Two more choices:
    1. Never leave your garage.
    2. If you leave your garage, don't stop driving until you return.

Parallel parking is a piece of cake - its those dang concrete bumpers in parking lots that are harder as the 348 nose is so low. So far so good....

    Cheers

I parrallel park every time I put it in the garage. That's because I have too many vehicles to pull straight in. So I have to back around the motorhome to get it into its spot in the garage.

In public, yes, I parallel park if I need to. I find that to be less dangerous that pull in parking in a parking lot. I don't like to drive in parking lots because it's hard to see in most of them regardless of what you're driving. It seems like most of them were designed by archietects instead of transportation engineers. They look pretty, but sight distance lacks for the most part. So I'm very careful. If I see a car that looks like the driver doesn't care, I'll leave a note on his car with his license number on it. It' shows that I'm aware of who parked next to me and to be careful. I also keep a copy of his license number so that if I think he hit me, I can get recourse. Havn't had a problemn yet. I have had some comments about the note though. They don't pay my bills, and I really don't care what they think.

I parallel parked my 308 a couple of times, and it's not that big a deal. But I've never had to parallel park my TR, and I don't think I want to try :) !

I'll parallel park the 308 but the Countach is just too much of a bear to deal with. That and it's either get it right the first time or feather that clutch.

If I know I'll be in a part of town where parallel parking is the norm I'll take the tiptronic Boxster.

No, not yet. But there might be a change soon that requires that purchase to be moved up. Details later...

Is there no end to the pansy question threads?

Let me disspell a few myths here and now:

    1) People don't drive their ferraris. Don't believe it. they are lying.
    2) They *never* see rain. Such exposure would cause melting. See above.
    3) No owner knows how to change the oil, let alone perform more complicated tasks. This would suggest that they use the car. See #1.
    4) If you allow dirt to touch the car, FNA reserves the right to take back the car w/o compensation or other consideration.
    5) Finally, under NO circumstances, if the car must be driven, may it be done so w/o an EXACT calculation of the route, with all topography mappings, advance notification to relevant police authorities, all ferrari service centers and towing companies on full alert, AND a hotline to FNA just in case something AWFUL happens (rain? low grade gas? female on cellphone driving SUV within 500 feet?).

GET OVER IT... IT'S JUST A CAR
