come with hydraulic bonnet lifter/s instead of a separate prop stand to hold the bonnet cover ???

I mean for such an expensive and well engineered car like the Enzo, and with negligible weight for the hydraulic lifter/s...I wonder why Ferrari stinge on this in the first place ?

Ferrari actually inluded twin hydraulic boot cover lifters, but the huge bonnet comes with a cheap looking separate stand which is out of line in such a supercar !

    Agree ?

Almost all modern Ferrari cars ( 348, 456GT, 355 , 360 F430, 612 ) comes equipped with hydraulic bonnet and boot lifters, so I wonder how come their top of the range supercar comes without !
Infact the F40, and F50 comes without as well !
    Ever wonder why ?

I was surprised as well , as I had the chance to inspect an Enzo just afew days back which I'm planning to acquire, and when I lifted the bonnet, looked for the hydraulic lifters but found none !

Instead, saw this separate prop stand that reminded me of lower grade Japanese cars !

I would guess the weight of the bonnet is the reason. If you look, you will notice that the F50 and the Enzo doesn't really have a bonnet, the entire top half of the rear section lifts up and is very heavy. (The F40 lifts up backwards, but I don't remember if it is as heavy as F50 and Enzo or heavier.)

The rear Hatch on the Enzo is pretty light from what i remember. I dont think it needed the Hyro lifter in it. I think its a weight saving idea...

    That's what i thought...

The weight of the hydaulic lifters for the front end isn't negligible, it's very necessary... Hydraulic lifters for the boot and/or bonnet would be negligible... F430, which one are you considering purchasing...?

To be frank with you guys, when I lifted the bonnet of the Enzo, I was surprised it's abt the same as a typical German or Jap car without lifters.
Do remember that the Enzo is made of carbon fibre, but the size of the bonnet is also bigger than others...so it should have been heavier if made of normal steel.
However it is not that light either, hence I thought those hydro lifters would have been a great option....weight seriously for a system for the Enzo wouldn't be that much as I've done some enquiry and you'll be surprised the nett weight of such a system...even if it's a twin system.

See... if the bonnet is heavy...that's when u need hydro lifters..if it's light, I don't mind holding it myself !
