Took these pictures at Singapore Motorshow just now, these cars are from a Japanese brand called Mitsuoka. Their 'luxury saloon' cars look horrible to me, look like they just tried to imitate a RR Phantom front on one, and the front of a Jaguar on the other. That white sports car doesn't look that bad to me, but up close you see that it is very cheaply made because the interior looked very cheap, and lots of the finish on the car wasn't smooth at all, especially around all the lights.

Ballin' on a budget. People will buy these things just to get the look of something more expensive.

I saw a TV biograpy on the life of Roy Orbison...he had an Excalibur SS and was real proud of it, too.

I am not sure, but he probably could have afforded a real 500SK.

I agree that their sedans look pretty bad. The sports car looks like a fancy kit car to me. The Lotus replica is not bad.

You can hardly go wrong replicating a Lotus 7 (Caterham 7 now), plenty of kit car companies have done it.

As for the others... please, pass me the sick bucket!!!

Those Japanese cars make Chinese cars look like Bentleys!!

I wouldn't get in one even if I was a crash test dummy....

They're not Singapore cars, they're Japanese cars.

Just came back from the Singapore Motorshow. Saw their fugly cars up close and personal (puke). They're not bringing in the Lotus Replica (which is the only nice car they have).

But even the cars they have are *hopelessly* underpowered for the looks and yet overpriced. The weird Admiral Ackbar "sportscar" has a 3+ liter N/A V6 engine putting out a measly 230 hp. Since the body is a "composite" of metal and fiberglass (the salesman didn't divulge proportions - the thing could be 99% steel and 1% fiber for all I know), it's probably as heavy as a whale. Which is why they haven't gotten even "estimated" 0 to 60 times as a selling point.

To top it all off, there's the price : S$350,000 (which comes to USD$225,000). A quarter of a million US dollars !!! And Singapore taxes by engine capacity as well, which means the buyer would get hit by the hopelessly inefficient engine which requires more than 3000 cc to put out 230 hp.

Singapore car prices are grossly overinflated compared to most of the rest of the world (because of extra taxes, etc), but to put things in perspective, a brand new BMW M3 with the SMG here would cost around S$330,000. I know which one I'd rather take.

For a weird sounding unknown Japanese brand, Mitsuoka sure are rather optimistic about their pricing points. When I asked one of their sales staff about this, he had the nerve to say that they were selling the styling, not the performance. Oh, the humanity!!

Did you see that 'Admiral Ackbar' car upclose? The interior looked so cheap and had poor fittings especially around the passenger side, and the finish was rough on the exterior, especially around the rear lights. Also funny like you mentioned that they didn't even have any performance figures like 0-60, can't believe the price they're offering with that hopeless engine power

Hey at least we had a 599 to get our appetite back!
