I THINK MY WINDOWS ARE HITTING THE AFTERMARKET SPEAKERS IN THE DOOR CAUSING THEM TO NOT GO ALL THE WAY DOWN. IS THIS RIGHT OR DOES EVERYONE HAVE THAT 1/2 TO 1 INCH OF WINDOW THAT WILL NOT GO DOWN.. SORRY FOR THE STUPID QUESTION BUT I LIKE THE DOOR SPEAKERS IN THERE AND WANTED TO CHECK BEFORE I BOUGHT NEW ONES AND IT DOESN'T FIX IT CURTIS
THANKS GUYS. I WAS ABOUT TO BUY SOME NEW SPEAKERS. SAVES ME SOME $$$$$ THANKS AGAIN AND THEY ARE GIVING THE "RIPPED OFF" SEGMENT SOME HELL AREN'T THEY!!!!
Quite normal......That would be *super* easy to verify. If they were actually hitting you'd be able to visually see that with the door panel removed.......
I aspire to own a 355 someday but the window not going all the way down is a let down. Maybe I'm being silly but does it bother anyone else?
Well i have developed an inch deep groove on the inside of my forearm and trisept Dont notice it as much any more these days
Unless you are a giant with an abnormally long torso (i.e. NBA player) I don't see how it would be comfortable to rest an arm on the windowsill of the 355. I sit quite low in my car and my arm is more comfortably perched on the inside armrest, during the rare occasions when I actually do that. Window issue does not bother me at all.
I've never waited for them to actually get all the way down in the Mondial; I think it would take several minutes
The edge of the middle portion of the glass may stick out around 3/8 " but its barely noticeable when looking at the car. Some older Acura sedans were really strange in that the front portion of the window took a nosedive into the door when the glass retracted making it look like the window was off the track. I don't think I have ever rested my arm on the door sill as the sill sits a little too high to be comfortable. The windows movement are restricted by the huge air intake scoops on the doors........something has to give with this design.
My 348 windows don't go all the way down either. What is really ironic is that one of my first cars was a Pontiac Fiero (I have actually owned 3 of them) and the windows didn't go all the way down - I could not believe when I started looking at Ferrari's that those windows didn't go down either - how far did Pontiac have to go to try to copy the look of a Ferrari!!
Every time I bring somebody new for a spin, they all ask "why the doesn't window down all the way". I came up with a store that Ferrari designed it so your oils from your arm isn't allover the shiny paint..
Yeah, I've always thought it was because the folks at Ferrari thought the car looked better without our arms hanging out the window.
Actually, it's not the scoop that's in the way. The windows go down behind the scoop (towards the interior of the car) and misses the scoop entirely. When you lower the window all the way that it can go, the bottom of the window (with the attaching mechanism) almost bottoms out inside the door. The height of the door is just too short for the height of the side window, and the only way for the windows to be completely hidden within the door cavity is if Ferrari had made the door height an inch or so higher (or the glass shorter), which would have ruined the lines of the 355. If you ever need to remove your lower door panel with the scoop, you'll see this. Anyway, my left hand is on the wheel and my right on the shifter so my arm is never on the window.
Are you guys F*ckin serious, really because the windows does not go down by 1 inch this is a big deal. You can`t hang your arm out anyways unless you are 7 ft and if you do you look silly. You can hardly tell when the windows are down, you think someone will look at the car and go ``OMG that could almost be the sexiest car in world if it wasn`t for the window not going down all the way.`` Oy Vay If this is a reason not to buy a 348 355 you are definetly looking at the wrong cars period
