The following are two recent e-bay sales: '72 246GT (Red) sold on 4-27-06 for $92,601.00 '72 246GT (Yellow) sold on 5-29-06 for $94,600.00 Both had some restoration (as with most cars) and are what I would call VERY nice drivers. For those who follow the overall market, what are your thoughts on how closely this e-bay market tracks auction and private party sales?
Dinos are back "in". That being said, for most people on this thread, they have never been "out". Next up, Boxers.
i would be curious to see the real condition of these cars. i do believe if they are good/great drivers, the price should be about correct. the red dino mentions it has books and records, but doesn't show them. i would be intereste dto know if this is full books or just a manual. neither has tools. the market has definitely moved. the spyder that was in mexico didn't sell, but i think the fact that you would have to pick it up in laredo didn't help that. for cars in this type of condition, i would expect a gt to be around $100k and a spyder to be near $125k. that is for a good/great car needing subtle cosmetics and no tools or books. of course, adjust accordingly if you feel the need to believe chairs and flairs are required.
There are two listed on the Ferrari Market Letter right now. Both right around $100K, One "looks good from 15 feet" with "extensive service records" and "some books and a correct spare" - $99K the other has," Power windows, original wallet with factory guarantee card, certificate of origin, owners manual, owners supplement and parts catalog." No mention of tools. $105K Both are Euro cars, no mention of chairs, and I keep hearing the same thing from knowledgeaboe Ferrari guys, "There just aren't any Dino's out there right now." So, long way around the block but yes, I think it is a "trend."
