My 360 really sounded a lot better with the tubi. As i'm preparing to get a 430, I am wondering how much better it will sound with a tubi. How is the sound of the stock 430? would it benefit as much from a tubi as the 360 did?

No, the 360 needed one badly from the factory(way too quiet), the 430 is good out of the box. Though I don't like the way they sound at idle too much - vibrate, hollow undertones. Otherwise they are great on the F430.

The stock 430 does sound good, but not truly great, IMO. It doesn't imitate an orchestral horn section quite like other Ferraris do. Its sound/tone is more so all-business...aggressive and intimidating.

It certainly doesn't need a sport exhaust, but hearing some modified 430s, their exhausts (headers, sport cats, mufflers) do turn the 430 into more of a musical instrument...i.e. a trumpeting note varying in tone/timbre over the rpm range. However, even a modded 430 will likely never sound as good as a stock CS.

I think the 430 sounds great with the stock exhaust. I just unplugged the vacuum hoses from the exhaust valves and there isn't really any need to look for another exhaust alternative. Unplugged it's really loud and sounds just great. The cheapest option of the 430 ;) The best is always for those who doesn't drive the car and hear you passing by. But in tunnels or mountains road, even as a driver, you'll enjoy a superbe and very impressive noice once you're getting about 6.000 revs. But the best is still to come. I test drove the 458 and, whaaaw mama mia, that's even crazier! :D

SfefVan, how would you describe the 458's sound compared to the 430's? Also, how does the car drive, in general? TIA

IMO, the 430 does not sound good with a Tubi.

Agreed. There are only one or two I would ever consider on a 430.

I had the Tubi GTC with the propeller tips installed when I first got the car.
I did not like it, it was indeed loud at idle but 'soft' at high rpms, it wasn't what I expected...sold it off after 2 weeks.

    Hi TIA,

I detailed expressed my impressions in the following thread :

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=271608

Enjoy. The 458 IS really something! Forget the pictures, forget the videos...once you get in that car, a new life story starts ;)

But keep your 430 6 speed (as I have) because this pleasure is also disappearing at the same time :(
