Does 430 F1 Autoshift @ Redline in Race Mode?

    Does the F1 shift automatically at Redline in Race Mode or does it bounce of the limiter? I tested it in sport and it does. I was wondering if it is like my Gallardo [Gallardo shifts @ redline in regular mode, but you have to do it yourself in sport mode].

    Also does anyone have a detailed breakdown of the different modes?

    It only shifts automatically at redline in Sport mode. It will bounce off the limiter in Race.

    Mine shift automatic in sports mode and in race mode. unless i'm allready in 6th gear :)
    Its a 2008 430 spider.

    You should check it out again. 430 shifts up automatically only in Sports mode, not Race mode!! Only way to make it upshift automatically is to use AUTO mode button, but I believe this question was about using paddles.

    Thanks =) All I needed to know so I don't bounce it off limiter testing. Does race mode have full or just partial traction control?

    Race mode has partial traction control based on the way it was explained to me. It appears this way also while driving. Less intrusive over that of Sport Mode.

    This is awesome! There’ll now be 100s of F430s out today verifying what happens at redline! I can’t wait to get home to go try… :)

    Hello Brad,

    My car is never in the "auto-mode" and when it is in "sport" or "race" it shifts automatic when it hits the redline. ( only from 5th- 6th gear)
    I allways use my paddles, but sometimes, the technic is faster than me.....
    And mine is a euro-car (Spain)
    Maybe there are some differences in other countries....

    And i allways drive it in Race mode...thats why i know it :)

    Wow, redline in 5th gear. You must be going 150+mph for that to happen!!!!
    Not a lot of places to do that in the US.

    So US cars do not upshift automatically in race mode while Euro cars do?

    I am not sure what US cars does, but definately sure Euro cars work like that! My Spider is '05 but I just attended to Pilota Ferrari in Fiorano, and all of their '08 cars worked like I explained.

    Traction control in Race mode is only partial and You can spin Your car easily. In Sports mode You really can not spin the car, but still it gives You little slide, but of course intruding driving much more. For not experienced track driver I would recommend to stay in Sports mode, the driving is pure fun still and You can focus on driving/ - lines better!

    You should check what is wrong there, if not US spec car
