This is water related and I will try to give as much detail as I can. The water meters for our house and our neighbors house sits within our property line and yesterday evening I caught our neighbors messing with it again. Our monthly water bill is normally about $30 but when we received our June water bill it was $400 and our water bill for July is $500!!! My mother said she had caught the NEW neighbors messing around with the meters about two months ago. Once she got the $400 bill she contacted the city and filed a complaint with a case number, well that was one month ago and they have yet to come out and investigate. The neighbor told me yesterday his June bill was $800 and his July bill was $1200 (apparently my mother had caught them messing with the meters before the huge bills started arriving). He refused to pay so they cut off his water and when I say CUT OFF I mean it CUT OFF. The water company removed a section of pipe and capped both ends to his home. Well yesterday before I confronted them I took pictures for proof as the neighbor attempted to hacked/cut away the caps and reinstall the section of pipe that had been removed. I wanted to get some advice before I pursued this issue on my own. Hopefully I was clear but if not please let me know. Thanks, Gregg
Well I just performed a small investigation and it seems we may have a "theft of services or just theft" case on our hands. The neighbor seems to be a really nice guy and is the only person working as far as I know and he is supporting two pre-teen children, his wife and another 400lb male who I know does not work. I cannot help but feel for him yet then again I do not know the details of their family dynamic. The investigator, I was told, should be out within the next week and once they perform their investigation it does not look good for the neighbor.
