Does anybody know how to tell if a 550 Spyder is real?

    I saw this one today in Dallas, TX. I highly doubt it is real just because of the rarity and the shift knob/various other details, but when looking at the paint and badges you notice quite a bit of wear and tear. I have posted a photobucket album below, if you look at the Porsche badge picture in high resolution you will notice quite a bit of imperfections in the paint and badges. Maybe it is an older replica rather than a new Beck/whoever else replica? I looked at pictures of a Beck one and there are some things that are missing from this car such as the handbrake and hazards stalk.

    Unless I saw under the rear bonnet, it can be hard to tell which mfg. Beck, Thunder Ranch, Vintage Spyders. Lots of recreations. They have been around since the early 90's so there are plenty of them out there with miles. I had a Vintage Spyder years ago. Fun little cars.

    The black wiper arms are a dead giveaway for me... That and the fake front grill (always hated that) Fun though.
