    All,
Looking for information on the car at Lamborghini of Houston. Is anybody familiar with the car? Did Scaglietti really cut the car? Does it matter? Always wanted an open Daytona, and will never be able to afford it. How will it drive? Can I get my money back in a few years?
    Thanks for the opinions.
    Mike

I am in Houston, but haven't seen the car nor do I know anything about it.

Historically, at least for the last several years, cut Daytona's seem to track regular Daytona coupe's in the market. I would expect that to stay the same. Money back in a few years......if the market stays the same or increases, yes. If the market tanks.....well, Daytona's could be bought for around $125k all day long less than 10 years ago, so who knows.

Shawn, why don't you ask Grady about this car? If he doesn't know, then nobody knows.

The answer is NO, Scaglietti did not cut any coupes into Spyders other than the possibility of a couple of pre production cars. [ Note possibility ]. Its the usual dealer hype to say this, i did e-mail them over a week ago asking what proof they had, and have had no response as of today.

Scaglietti would never risk there relationship with Ferrari by do so, as Ferrari hated there cars being changed. Besides the mouse ear switch's on the dash are in the wrong place for a Spyder and i cannot see Scaglietti doing this.

Spyders where made from scratch as Spyders, with a beefed up chassis, we have talked about this in some length before, i did post up a photo of a Spyder being made in the factory with its own jig, which also covered the front wings, which would not be necessary if it was cut from a coupe.
It Looks like a very nice car though, but at $389,750 it should be.

That's a typical FML recap of "known information" and in no way implies any 'confirmation" of anything.

A cut car is a cut car, for a number of reasons.....
