This is a three owner (via carfax) 5000 mile blk/blk coupe with red tach and 3 pedals in Charlotte NC at Planet Suzuki. It's been on the market for a while now and is asking $159K for a 2008. Standard seats, carbon ceramics standard, standard wheels (I like the Challenge wheels but can buy that afterwards, not sure if it has carbon rear grill, doubt it as it doesn't have any interior carbon bits in the cabin).

Does anybody have the scoop on this car? It seems terribly underpriced for an 08 3 pedal car with only 5K miles on the clock. No accidents noted on carfax.

That car does NOT have CCB; it's a $16K+ option (look at the window sticker). First car I've seen without the daytona seats. Just bought an 8.8K-mile red/tan/black '06 spider (3-pedal too) with all options for $140K (private party), so it might be a good deal but not a bargain. Just get the car inspected by a Ferrari dealer to erase any doubt of anything being wrong. And ask them to hook up car to an SD3 to tell you max revs (to make sure engine was never mechanically overrevved by a botched shift), max coolant and oil temperatures (to make sure engine never overheated), and also check clutch and brake wear, to make sure it was never abused. And of course any fluid leaks (engine, power steering, water pump, tranny/diff, etc. To my surprise, a PPI costs $295 at a Ferrari dealer; money well spent. Good luck.

I think the carbon brakes were standard on 08 430's.
Not an option. Listed on window sticker last item.

Thanks for the heads-up. Learning new stuff about this car here every day.

Just wonder if the outrageous cost of pads is warranted, or just a cashcow for having that expensive option. And also if they're as good as the regular brakes for street use (cold), both in noise level and performance. Hope I don't get bad news that the CCBs are excessively worn (after 8.8K miles) after tomorrow's PPI. Good day folks.

Make sure they check both of these (most "inspections" I've seen - 3 this week actually - only show hom many mm's of pad are left). On the CCM's heat cycles are important to know...

Ask them the price of parts for pads and rotors and see if you are comfortable with paying up for when that time comes, (I wasn't). By the way don't fall for the old line that those will last for the life of the car. Good luck with the PPI.

Thanks for your help folks. Didn't really want CCBs, but this car happened to have them. I didn't make them a deal-breaker because of the 'they last for the life of the car' comments. But even if the rotors do, $2K for just front OR rear pads alone is ridiculous, and pads surely won't last the life of the car (even an easy one). Crossing fingers that won't become an issue tomorrow.

The rotors wont and those plus pads replacements were over $25k when I turned down a Stradale because I didn't want to have that expense in the future.

That car appears to have almost no options, the MSRP looks to be under 200k. Asking 30-40 under MSRP for a 3 year old car doesn't seem outlandish to me.

BTW I've seen the same dealer advertise other 430s at pretty good prices, maybe they just like to move their cars? :)
