Does anybody use their car cover?

The red cover that comes with you Fcar is not waterproof. It will not scratch your car.

You may want to cover your car with a breathable waterproof cover and put the red cover underneath to keep the paint from being scratched. You can find several firms who will make you a cover for your model on the internet. And you may want to get a lockable cover so someone does not steal it.

 

I use my Red one all the time!! (except in the rain)... I use it when car is in garage (keeps all dust off) and i use it when i go someplace and im gonna be away from it for anything longer than 15 minutes...

with the exception of the logo on the cover i like that it makes the car stealthy... no hand prints on windows when i get back too it!! just looks like a corvette when covered (no offense to corvette owners)

All the time - in the garage - to keep dust and the cat off the car. But never outside.

I agree I also use it all the time. It's also good at keeping you from inadvertently scratching the car in the garage.

 

No I don't use one. It's like covering your Picaso while you are not looking at it.

 

I use mine whenever I am not not driving, in my garage only. If I park on the driveway, then I don't use it.

If I were a corvette owner and ur Fcar somehow someway resembled a corvette, I probably wouldn't take offense at all.

 

I was thinking along the same lines.

I only use the cover in the off season here in NJ, which sometimes seems like the whole year. The entire winter its pretty much covered due to the fact that I cant drive it at all. Although it only takes about 30 sec to 1 min to put on, it seems like a hassle to do it all the time.

I think it also depends on the type of garage you have and who lives in the home(ex. young children that could have a toy in their hand and scratch it or even a dog that jumps up)

 

I clean/detail my car and put the factory indoor cover on when storing/not driving it. I also have an outdoor cover (link below) that is a new model/material that fits/stretches like the indoor covers but is waterproof and breathable.

The key is making sure you NEVER cover the car if it is dirty/dusty and NEVER cover the car if it is windy.

I also use a sunshade so if/when I park the car outside without the cover on it my dash stays cool and avoids the stickies.

I only use my cover in the garage like many of the other owners.

 

Mine is in a pile in the corner of the garage, and my dog likes to sleep on it.

 

Use mine all the time, especially if I'm out of town a few days

I made mistake of parking under a tree a few days, luckily I had my cover on. COver was ruined but my car was fine

 

I use my red cover all the time, but only in the garage to keep the dust off. Never really thought about using it outdoors. I imagine it would keep the interior cooler on hot summer days, but I definitely wouldn't use it in the rain.

And I like those non-stealthy Ferrari logos (I wouldn't want people thinking it's a corvette)...

 

Like others, I use my red one indoors when I am not going to drive the car for a few days. I also have a waterproof, breathable cover which I use when I drive the car to work. It keeps the car clean and somewhat keeps the car low key. The outdoor cover was about $400. It is custome made for the car and fits like a glove. In fact it fits better than the red one.

 

Couldn't agree more, They came with alot of cars I have bought, and I end up selling all of them on Ebay...I enjoy opening the garage and looking at the cars...not the covers, and I dust off the cars when needed.

 

I cover my car all the time when in the garage, as stated keeps dust down, and a bit of extra protection from the dogs, wife & myself (on occasion) cant hurt!
