I know a lot of people like challenge grilles on the Ferrari, but I don't, I was wondering if anyone else is with me?

I just hate how there's carbon behind the pracing horse logo, I love how on the original 360, 355 and 458 the logos are on a plain surface which colour is identicle to the rest of the body.

It's one of the main reasons why I don't like the 430, and reasons why I love Lamborghini a lot, just wondering why people like it so much, I know it help keeps the car cooler or something, but from a looks point I dislike it.

Love the challenge grill as well, one of the reasons I bought a 348 with one installed.

    You answered your own question.

I like it because breaks up the color. Sometimes it looks like the 355/360 has too much of one color or like you said identical to the body but from an aesthetics point of view, I think it looks great.

I haven't seen the Challenge grill on many F430s but I do like the F430s with or without them.

if you want another reason not to like it consider that it turns you tail lights into a pair of nice firm breasts. take a look if you dont believe me, almost any 360 that has had a challenge grill for any lenght of time has bubble shaped tail lights due to over heating from the exhaust. But other than that I think they look great. I will admit I like seeing a car with the original grill because it is a rarity it seems.

I think that they look absolutely horrible on blue 355s.

Which is the only reason I do not have one installed on mine.

I hate the look of them, especially on the 355's. I didn't like them when they were new, and I don't like them all these years later. I would only change my 355 if I need to for heat reasons.

On a side note - has anyone ever painted theirs to match the factor color but retain the holes for heat disbursement?

I've seen some pictures posted of silver cars with the grill painted to match.

I'm not a big fan of the 458 carbon fiber rear challenge grill, but I've only seen it in pictures. I might change my mind when I see one in person.

I've seen pictures of it before, now THAT looks horrible.

I love them, but have to agree with Blampee...not very good looking on blue 355's.

I think the Challenge grille is quite nice on a yellow or red F355.
When I bought mine, the Challenge grille was painted red and it just didn't look right to me.
While doing the major, I've had the grille repainted and I think the car looks much better with it.
On a classy colour, like TDF, I think the standard grille looks way better than the Challenge one.

I like the challenge grills on the 355 through 430. The 458 challenge grill in pictures just kind of looks tacky.

    Nice insight from you guys.

I just never liked it, probably a good reason why I like the behinds of the California (in black) and 599's since they don't have that grille (thank god) lol.

If you were to purchase one of these cars with a grille on, would the dealership have the original tail end or would you have to swap it with an indy?.

My grill arrived today and am very excited to have it on the car. My car is a yellow 360 spider. But i think it really depends on the color of your car and your personal preference, some love it while other just purely hate it :)

This. I've also seen a photo or two of paint-matched challenge grills. If the challenge grill is on there, it should be black. And it works with lots of contrast with the main body color.

I love mine but I do miss the horse against red background.

I like them on 355s and 360s. Furthermore, it is one of the few modifications, which actually has some functionality. I am ambivalent about the cf challenge "grill" on the 458.

If you have a F430 with Challenge grills then it would look odd and out of place because it should only be reserved for special cars in 360 and 430, which would be Challenge Stradale and 430 Scuderia. Those cars are a great exception to the rule because it is part of their appearance.

430 Scuderia looks super aggressive with the back like that, without it the car's rear would seem naked.

Exception to the rule: 360 CS, 430 Scud.

Part of the reason I looked at over 50 360's over a 2 yr period is that finding one WITHOUT a Challenge grill was difficult. I was specifically looking for a red spider without one in the rear (I do have front challenge grills). I don't like them at all on red 360's.

However, I think they look great on white, yellow, and grey (sort of) 360's. And on a CS, they are magical. But I find them ugly on a red non-CS 360 where you see the majority of Challenge grills. They cheapen the look of the car to me. I don't know why I don't feel that way on other color 360's, but with those colors, the black color contrast works where as on a red one, it ruins it for me. Yet, it works on a CS for me. Go figure.

I don't think they every look good on any 355 or 348. Particularly the 355's beauty is absolutely ruined by a Challenge grill IMHO. As for a 430, it is more suble so look ok to me, though I would probably go with the red on a 430 as well.

I like it on the 355, 360, and F430. Serves a functional purpose as well as improves the look, IMO.
The 458 appears to be only aesthetic, as the airflow still travels through the same outlets as the stock rear grille. I'm not sold on this one yet.

    What he said.

I like the round 308-style tail lamps contrasted with the painted bodywork, and think the grille is a distraction. But, if it dissipates heat better, then I guess it is what it is.
