My 1995 456GT 2.7 likes a tiny moment of throttle at cold starts, otherwise it will start then stall immediately.

If I dab the accelerator pedal for half a second, it starts and runs fine for the rest of the day, with multiple problem-free warm starts.

    Does anyone also do this?

    Many thanks

Never needed on any of my cars of that generation: 550s & 456M; and always fire up easily.

I saw one advertised on a UK online auction site with a note on the steering wheel from the seller saying, "She likes a tickle for cold starts!"

I could empathise but wondered if it was just the 2 of us owners?

Have the injectors ever been cleaned and resealed?

It was on my list of things to do last winter but steering rack replacement took priority. Thanks for the suggestion.

I just had a major done on my 1995 Ferrari 456 GT at the dealer, and I've now noticed the need to do that. But it was at the shop for almost two years getting things done on it so it could need a few weeks of driving to get it back to normal.

Taz, would the throttle cable adjustment make a difference?

Throttle cable adjustment just takes the slack out of the system and allows you to get to 100% throttle.

Bosch 2.7 Motronic was considered by those of us in the business as one of the best, most trouble free engine management systems ever produced. It should be easily diagnosed and fixed.
    A. They do not fix them selves
    B. Unaddressed problems almost always get worse.

If you value getting where you are going do not ignore it.
