Hi all, I'm looking to acquire a "dead" Dinoplex so I can use the housing and retrofit it to the MSD for my BBi - Mine was tossed years ago-not smart.
Does anyone happen to have one?

All Dinoplexs', regardless of model (for Ferrari at least), are unicorns and they're not cheap either. That said, who have you tried? Also, any specific model?

    Good day Ludwig,

Looking on Ebay there looks to be 3 available:

    https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=dinoplex&_sacat=0

However, as Continental mentioned, they are not cheap... ranging from $1000 to $1250 USD...

Also as heads up everyone... for some reason Ebay links posted on Fchat are re-directed to your respective's country's ebay domain (f-chat must have an arrangement with Ebay?)... Since I am in Canada the above link gets directed to Ebay.ca which does not show the results I mentioned. If anyone experiences this, simply copy and paste the link in your browser.

    Cheers,

    Sam

It is a shame these were discarded in the past... I'd like a housing but for the dollars being asked on Ebay- not reasonable
The original for the BBi I believe was the AEC 104B

If you rebuild enough of them, one often has spare parts lying around.

Yes I am only looking for the outer housing to mimic the original but with MSD internals, I was hoping someone might have a "throw away"

I know this thread is about finding a used/discarded AEC but here's a little info.

Dick Fritz told me once that when the Box goes "bad" to disconnect/remove the rev limiter as this was sometimes the cause of the unit not working. Be sure the ignition switch is off and the battery disconnected when doing this!
