I was going to contact the owner using the phone number listed but wanted to know if there are any specific issues that should be addressed on a car that has low mileage, or if everyone's consensus is to steer clear of eBay cars alltogether (as it is widely perceived to be the dumping ground for bad cars). Each year for the past two years, about this time, I get TR fever but I am usually able to stall it off. This year is different and I am hell bent on getting one. I have studied these cars for years and know enough to be dangerous, but obviously all of the owners are much more knowledgeable. Any advice would be appreciated with respects to what I should look for on a car like this and what price to pay. Thank you for your time. - Eric

I had seen this car on Dupontregistry last fall listed for 65K. It had a major in Manhattan last summer. The seat belts were non stock (?for racing?). He said he was motivated. I started looking at 512's instead. Good luck

Not many or detailed pictures to make judgements from. For that price it better be a good car. The major was not very thorough. Coolant and fuel hoses have not been replaced and at that age are all just a big leak waiting to happen. When it does it will either strand you or burn the car to the ground.

It's too bad because that is a very big job with the motor in the car. A shop that would do that was either working to too small a budget or was not up to speed on Ferrari. Neither is a good sign.

How did you know what they did during the service? I am just curious b/c it does not mention any specifics on the auction listing.

If I were to guess I'd say they're the original hoses. They don't look new.

Can somebody plz explain why people buy TR's and "drive" it only 6700 miles in 18 years time...? I just don't get that...Are they afraid to wreck the car?

How many miles do you suppose Jay Leno put on his cars? I have a few customers with collections that large.

In my house we have 7 cars and 2 drivers. Company cars get driven every day. The rest when we have time and we don't have too much time.

They are original Ferrari hoses and no way they are still good.
