No, No, No .... these are the work of the well-known Ferrari aficionado and photographer, Edwin van Nes. Edwin posts lots of good quality Ferrari photos - mostly to http://www.barchetta.cc, but he also has his own website: http://www.dacorsa.net - the magazine/library section of this website is particularly useful for reference .....
Just in case anyone is still reading this thread, here's a really nice 'pre-race' photo of 330P3 #0844 taken at Spa 1000Km's in 1966 (the winning car with Parkes / Scarfiotti driving) ....
Excellent thread here! I too am in search of high-quality P3 and P4 photos, both vintage and current. Can anyone please help with some posts or links? Cheers!
Back in the 70s, I visited a gentleman in upstate NY who had a yellow 330 "P" car set up for road use. It was once owned by a celebrity - Dean Martin, as I recall. Anyhow, I later heard the car referred to as a P-3 as well as a P-3/4. I never really knew which one it was but I think it was restored the the original race configuration. What is the difference? P-3, P-3/4 and P-4?? Just curious!!! Bob Z.
Hi, Wayne - thanks for the info. So, then that car was designated 421P instead of 330. Interesting in that the 330 is, in fact, a 4-liter. Bob Z. Back to the question - how do the 330 P-3, P-3/4 and P-4 differ?
It refers to frame design, mainly...P3s were first.. Then some were returned for mods with engine upgrades, so they are the P3/4s... The you have the final versions, P4s for the Factory team and 412Ps for privateers, a little simpler drivetrain to maintain.. You should review Napolis's document on 0846...he covers it pretty well there, top to bottom! Have you seen that? It's posted on the web....link, Wayne???
Napolis' current work is in the 'Wax On wax Off' thread, in Vintage, where he landed the McCaw car and is straightening things out, between the two......
