any details on when this is coming out?

This would be worth waiting for a I think.

Also, any ideas on if the 612 is gonna have a targa or spyder version?

Also curious about that-- maybe I can convince this girl I'm seeing's dad to get a 550/575 or Vanquish in the meantime... The dealer keeps giving him the run around about production dates and is generally acting like FNA ;).

I have a deposit on one and my dealer doesn't have a firm date either. They say probably another year. I have been looking around for an in between vehicle as well. I like the DB9 Volante but it comes out in March and has a long waiting list. An M3 Convert is looking better and better but not sure how smart it would be to buy this when the new body will be coming out soon.

An M3 convertible might might make sense to get now rather than later. Lets hope BMW doesn't screw up the look of the new M3 too. The new SLK 55 AMG looks pretty sharp IMO and seems to be a better all around car than the one it is replacing. I think SLK 55 AMG deliveries begin this month.

Unfortunately (car wise) I now need a token back seat for our baby. If not, an sl55 would be my choice.

Ahh, a year? Apparently he was told it was coming this April.. Maybe it's the Coupe he's getting..?

I've put over 500 miles on their SL55 (and currently have it in my parking lot at school), such an amazing car... Have you considered the CL55/65 or 600?

This car will be strictly a convertible fun car. I have the sedan, the SUV and the spider, no need for a 4 seater coupe. Now if they made a CL55 convert, especially with a hardtop convert I would be on the list!

An M3 is a dime-a-dozen here in NY, I'm sure it's the same where you live, if you're going to go that route, why not the new 6-series, it looks great in black..

Other (convertible) options to hold you off to the Continental GT Convertible; Porsche Turbo Cabriolet (if their are back seats), Bentley Azure (?), Audi S4 Cabriolet, 456 Cabriolet if you can find it (cut or a Sultan special), BMW M3 or 645i, and Mercedes CLK55.. If I could find a 456 I'd probably keep that instead of buying the Bentley..

The Turbo Cabrio has back seats, unfortunately they only work if you don't have legs, the S4 styling is pretty weak. I think out of those i would go with a CLK55 conv. Just my $.02

A babyseat can't fit in it? I'm pretty sure my cousin can fit his kids in his C2 cabriolet..

Hey David. A 6.0 is still the car I want but I need something to "involve" my family. Yeah, M3's are a dime a dozen but it still is a nice little convertible that I could even let my wife drive! I am thinking about selling the spider, getting a family convertible and then I can start looking for a nice 6.0!

I was leant a E46 M3 for an afternoon- and it's almost too good of a car, a bit boring to drive, possibly the easiest car I've ever driven... I think I'd get an E36 before an E46, the E46 was just too refined..

Cool GTR, Maybach 57 and Phantom stretch. I think its funny there is a half naked girl posing infront of the Phantom and not two inches below it is the claim that they are a Christian company. I thought it was funny.

FWIW I've had one for a year - it is a true 4 seater convertible and I LUUUUUUUV it - even in the UK!:D

Fabric hood, but the mechanism has 200+ moving parts and most people don't even know its a convertible when there in it - its so quiet.

About 385bhp, 0-60 @ 5.0 secs - so also a real fast car when you want it to be, button shift on steering wheel, so can be driven like a manual.

Get a test drive and then I'm sure you'll buy it!

In the Uk there about £65K, @$116k - two thirds the price of a SL55 AMG!!

    Cheers Kevan
:) See you down the road - with huge grins on our faces :)
