    See if you can find the instruction manual for the English version online or better yet, see if there are pics of the English model online then just compare them

    My daughter is taking some Japanese so I thought I'd see how much she's really learned. Here's her best guess at some of them:

    1 - camera
    2 - ?
    3 - shoot
    4 - focus / ? (blue)
    5 - ? / ? (blue)
    6 - backlight
    7 - ?
    8 - ?
    9 - menu
    10 - light
    11 - ?
    12 - photo

    Please excuse my Japanese, it's a bit rusty as I've barely used it the last two years:

    1) Camera
    2) ? (Kanji)
    3) Network
    4) Data Cord
    5) End Search
    6) Backlight
    7) Effect
    8) Drive Mode
    9) Menu
    10) Light
    11) Audio Level
    12) Photo

    I'll try to figure out the Kanji; hope this helps a little.

    Edit: I'm pretty sure the Kanji (#2) means "off"

    Thanks guys!

    No, even better....! I didn't pay anything for it. My Japanese uncle (who I don't even know) bought it for my cousin because her digital camera got stolen. But all she wanted was a still camera, not a camcorder. She lives with me now and she basically gave it to me.

    Funny. My mom's brother gave us a camcorder too, and everything was in Korean, but of course my mom speaks Korean so she translated everything for me.
