Does anyone here understand day time running lights on a 355? Have an issue

I have a US 355 with aftermarket day time running lights (mandatory in Canada). The fog lights work as the day time running lights.

All used to work fine, I'd turn on the car and the fogs would turn on, when I turned on the headlights the fogs could then be switched on and off depending on whether I needed them. Now things are just a mess.

When I turn on the car no fogs come on at all. When I turn on the park lights/headlights only the passenger side fog comes on and it won't turn off. I've tried the basic task of checking the drivers side fog fuse and changing the bulb, no luck.

Here are some pictures of the ghetto install, I personally don't care if I keep the day time running lights, I just don't want a one fog light car every time I turn on my headlights.

You can see the drl wire is wired into one of the empty relay sections. Where would this wire run too, I don't want to start tearing the car apart to track this issue down if I don't have too.
