My mechanic says that high flow catalytic converters will usually cause o2 sensors to give warning lights on my 355. He suggested I look into these cat simulators which are supposed to trick the computer into believeing the original factory cats are installed and working properly. Can anyone tell me if you have used this type product? Where to get them and if they work well? Thanks in Advance Scott

If you have a 1996 or later OBD2 Ferrari, then you have 4 O2 sensors...two in front of your cats to measure your fuel/air mixture (useful for tuning your motor on the fly) and two behind your cats to measure how well your cats cleaned up your exhaust.

If you replace factory cats with hollow tubes or inferior cats, then your rear O2 sensors are going to signal a problem to your engine computer.

Some people might replace those rear O2 sensors with simulators (which simply send a signal that shows a slightly varying "good signal" to your engine computer). Others might invest in better cats...or simply ignore the Check Engine Light.

A few very advanced people might even reprogram their engine computer to accept (or ignore) the input signals from the rear O2 sensors without throwing an error code.

Thanks Drew for the link however I am still looking into this simulator I originally asked about because the Hyper-Flow aftermarket cat is the specific one my mechanic said has caused other 355 owners to experience o2 warning lights on the dash. He feels this may be the only fix other than staying with OEM cats. I just hope someone out there has tried them or atleast seen an ad for them!!!!! Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would ask Fabspeed if they have tested their cats on a post 1996 F355, you already have their headers so its makes sense to me go get their high-flow cats. Keep us posted :)

You guys got me wondering if I may need them as well on my 360. I'm about to put on a set of High-flow cats from Kinetix Racing. I wondering if I too will get a check engine light. Does anyone know if they have seen a check engine light on a 360 with any of the other cat manufactures like fab-speed or hyper-flow? Do the simulators replace the O2 sensors? Please let me know if anyone has had any experiences.
